Afrihost should really advertise in this small town their afrihost mobile product. There are no competitors here whatsoever only 1 WISP that services everyone.

LOL, which town is this? Maybe we need to get a billboard up there ;)

At least we know we've got an awesome ambassador there :)

haha at awesome ambassador - I am not living here permanent, family member relocated here! I had to do some research once I arrived and must say very disappointed that the monopoly company packed up their bags and went elsewhere.

The WISP charges R500 per month for an uncapped 1 meg account, excludes hardware and installation cost.

To advertise in the local newspaper R100 in classifieds :) Make your presence known here ASAP! I am not sure if there are any heavy spenders. 2 army bases here, lots of mines surrounding the area - lots of hot women as well :p

Only problem with such a small town - you cannot blame traffic for being late at work :P.

Sounds like my kinda town. Dunno if we'll ever do newspaper ads (don't think we've ever done one, tbh) but army bases and mines sound like they're housing plenty of future Afrihosters :)

Sadly I am going to have to cancel my mobile subscription service with Afrihost. Yesterday I've had issues again with connecting to the network and today I'm getting "your account has been capped messages" even though I have a ton of data left over... It is a real pity that the service is being disrupted by such small niggles as the pricing, service and quality is otherwise outstanding.

It sometimes happens. I had the same over the weekend, asked the question in clientzone and within a few minutes I had two responses from two Afrihost support individuals who both refreshed my account. Was running fine since then.
Note: this was after hours!

Yep, you are right. This one was resolved within half an hour.

The question is why are Afrihost experiencing these issues in the first place and why aren't they being resolved? It definitely helps that Afrihost are very responsive to support tickets, but I depend on my internet connection for work, so availability and reliability is important to me.

Lately there have been intermittent niggles with connecting to the network and capped messages. At the end of April I lost a couple of megs worth of data because I couldn't connect to the network. A month prior to that I lost 1GB of data on the first day after downloading a Linux distro overnight that bombed out at 6AM that morning just before the download completed due to the network being reset. I logged a support ticket, but wasn't offered a refund for my lost data. I haven't experienced such issues with Cell C or Telkom Mobile prior to switching to Afrihost.

As I've said the network is usually top notch and the speeds very consistent 99% of the time. I've also rated them a 9/10 on the last broadband survey.

Just a general note that we are experiencing problems with people being redirected to the Capped page when they have data.

We're doing our best to resolve this right now - please be patient. I know this has been happening on and off over the weekend :(

This has been happening for months already, not just this weekend.

It was happening a lot when we launched, and then we made some changes that it hasn't been happening for a long time. I see it's come back, so we'll need to look at what changes could have impacted how this system operates :(

Seems like it's a small provisioning error. Mostly should be easy to fix case by case, but we're trying to see why the error is coming up in bulk as it is. We still believe that 90% of our clients are not getting the error, but the ones that are seeing it is too big to be acceptable :(

I'm still being redirected to an out of bundle page. The helpline says you're aware of this so I assume I don't need to log a fault?

Sorry about this :(
Could you drop me a PM with your number? I'll see if I can get you back up and running.

I'm also being redirected to the Clientzone with 1.6GB still available on my bundle. :( Very frustrating.

PM sent.

Also got the redirect with plenty data left. Happened on Sunday and again this morning. Rebooting the modem sorted it.
