Love Afrihost, would recommend their service to anyone!

Last week they delivered my Zest T1 device and unfortunately my device was faulty from the word go. Zest Technical department did their best to help me via remotely connecting to my computer and would give me a set of instructions on notepad but unfortunately they couldn't load the IMEI on the device. First thing on Monday morning got hold of Afrihost in less than 3 hours time the courier collected the faulty handset, next morning(today) new phoned arrived operating as it is suppose 2. Afrihost took less than 16 hours to resolve the matter. I am happy go lucky Zest fan now :)

Advice to anyone looking to order a Zest T1 in future from Afrihost/Zest Mobile make sure it is operational and that an IMEI is displayed *#06# before the courier leaves that way if it is faulty tell the courier to take it back to the sender

I'm considering going to Neotel. Have already checked for reception in our area and it looks good.
Not sure how their service is going to be though, but will sure give it a try.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Neotel's main downfall is the lack of a try before you commit option. With any of the cell providers, you can get a starter kit and check the signal, speeds etc in your most regular area of use. Neotel, you need to either find someone with their hardware to test or take a gamble on whether the service will be good or not.

Remember with MTN(Afrihost Mobile) you can be down at the coast on holiday and you will have coverage and with Neotel you won't have coverage. I always have redundancy backup with me always if one fails do have a backup handy if the network is playing ball.

this morning i got the 2gig afrihost mobile data on my mtn sim, but the browsing loading speed is really horrible, its faster when i just use my airtime. I am getting H+ and 3g

Thanks GreGorGy, RichardG and Moshidi for your inputs.

Also an extremely unhappy customer here! Had 4.4GB of data remaining yesterday, and was unable to connect for even a second, I demand a refund, and will be contacting support today to express my unhappiness!

EDIT: Scratch that! A two minute conversation with online support, and I have the data re-credited to my account! I knew I picked Afrihost for a reason! :D

I almost had 3gig left, dealing with support right now. Hopefully I can get that back.

Why do they only re-credit customers who contact them?

Should this not be an automatic response to all customers who tried to connect but was unable to?

I'm pretty sure they have logs where they can see which customers attempted connection.
Those were the customers who wanted to use their data balances.

BTW, I now also contacted their support about a re-credit.

My thoughts as well. I am happy to concede my left over data if it was my fault, but I was willing to use everything before 12 last night. If I knew there was going to be issues last night I would've used it on Sunday night.

As long as I've been with Afrihost the last few hours of the month have been snafu. So I don't bargain on finishing my cap on the last day anymore.

My Afrihost Mobile connection has been absolutely horrible the past couple of days ... Right next to an MTN tower in Bloemfontein.

Well done to Afrihost, they credited me with my lost data. Very happy about that.

Never mind, apparently left does not know what right hand is doing. Trying to get a sim to use LTE. Can someone help?

My current sim does say LTE on it. So can I assume that it is not LTE capable?

If the SIM does have the LTE brand on it, then it can be LTE activated. You just need to PM me or AfriGuy.

Methinks AH should let the remaining data expire 10 days into the next month to handle these issues. That way, if you haven't used it by the 10th, really is your fault. I know I also budget my 3G data to serve me the whole month, including the last day as I never know where I will be on that day and if I won't be near wifi/adsl.

If you feel strongly that you didn't get full use of your data, we can extend it for a few more days. It would make sense to give you an extension similar to the downtime experienced. You can PM me.
