Afrihost mobile and DSL downtime

Afrihost says that it has resolved authentication issues with its mobile data and DSL network, which affected users on Saturday morning.

I can confirm it's back up for me :)

"Mobile Clients still experiencing problems should turn off their MiFi or put their mobile device into airplane mode for 30-60 seconds and then reconnect."

This may help.

Still not working for me

Afrigirl. Please inform the top bosses. That the users want a "Bigger Capped" account.

10gig+10gig is not bad, but there are users that own LTE Modems and 10gig is just too little.

Maybe 20+20gig special or 50+50 for the Higher end users ?

To the Public, Please confirm if you would be interested in a similar package like i suggested above.

/raises hand.

I need a new battery for my Mifi device. Only lasts 2 hours on a full charge. :o

Where can I get a new one?

I'm not sure to what extent this is covered under the warranty, I imagine a measure of battery life degradation is to be expected over time. Can you drop me a PM and I'll check on what our policy is on this?

Otherwise, you should be able to purchase one at any Huawei device retailer (like a cellular shop).

Would also like to know if it is perhaps covered under warranty. Mine doesn't even last 30min.

I didn't need it urgently because my original battery still lasts about 3 hours so I took the free delivery option. It took 6 weeks to get here.

Hi, I'm new here, bought a mifi device (huawei E5331) from a colleague at work and received my Afrihost sim on monday last week.

I live in Ottery, Cape Town and my data speeds have been extremely poor. I've checked the coverage map and i am covered for 3G.

But the best i get is 2G speeds :(

Yesterday morning for about 5 mins i was able to get 9MB download with a 59ms ping... but it lasted just 5 mins...

Please help me... or i'll have to cancel

Was so looking fwd to being connected but this coverage.... meh :(

If connect to the management page on your device, is everything else set correctly? Like APN? Also, what does it say for Network Selection: Auto, 2G or 3G?
