Capped webpage is back, even though I have bandwidth available. Is this bug ever going to be solved?

We are definitely working on resolving this. You can try turning the router off for about 5 minutes (this usually works if you are seeing the capped page). When our system sees that you are seeing the capped page but you have data, it should automatically adjust to allow you to reconnect normally.

If not, please drop me a PM :(

Waited 5 minutes with the router off. Still seeing capped. 2nd day without internet. 3rd or 4th month I'm experiencing this - I am really getting over Afrihost very quickly....

Really sorry about that :(
Did you PM the details through to AfriMan? If not, you're more than welcome to PM me.

Hmm, my MiFi has just turned RED as in No Signal :( Been working fine for the past couple of hours. About 30min or so

.. and back again :)

Odd, could have been a temporary drop in signal. Shout if you see it happen again!

I sent you a PM almost 2 hours ago, and have heard nothing, still no internet, grrrrr

Hmm, noticed yesterday and today also, turns red. I have to connect then disconnect data.

Today second day in a row that I have no connection on the Afrihost APN. Switch to MTN and all works. Yesterday the Afrihost one worked again a bit later, will try the same today.

It could be a coverage issue. I know that MTN are also doing national upgrades of their infrastructure, so it's possible that this could happen as they swop out kit, etc, in your area.

We shouldn't be having any problems with our APN. Drop me a PM if you're still battling so I can check if you're authenticating at all on our network.

Hi all,

Been with Afrihost for about 6 months and the first 4 where an absolute pleasure.

However on the 5th month the chassis, wheels and brakes fell off, ping and download is good however the upload has disappeared or is intermittent and this has been on going for the last 2 months.

I have raised this issue with Afrihost and they are doing there utmost to resolve this issue, unfortunately they are dealing with a more severe evil...... MTN, shocking customer service,no feedback(still waiting)unprofessional and no sense of urgency.

Afrihost.... if you are going to be an affiliate/part owned entity of MTN you need to ............no, you have to hold MTN to task and commitment.

MTN.......i don't know what to say.....speechless!

Just switched back to Afrihost APN and it works. Not sure what the issue was earlier. Will monitor and PM you if there is a problem again.

We definitely do our best to try to get the best performance possible on the network. I'm sure every mobile network faces some challenges in particular areas based on demand also placement on their infrastructure. I was pretty unhappy that when we recently moved I went out of an LTE area, but was surprised to find 3G coverage is actually really good, and I get similar speeds, which is awesome.

MTN are continually expanding and upgrading and I think they are also striving to improve client experience at every turn.

Can I check out this ticket ref for you? Maybe we can chat over PM.

Some stats on the MiFi..

I have to be honest, I'm not familiar with MDMA, though I know a few use it. I can't tell whether the time code refers to minutes or seconds, but the data transferred seems very low if you were doing anything meaningful on the network. If you were inactive, then it would fit with a small ping that essentially keeps the connection open (again, depends on the duration).

I think MTN's people are probably a lot better at analysing the data than me :(
