My AH mobile has been working fairly well over the last few months.

My MTN signal is still bad - but I'm getting decent throughput on the account - and only need to reset the connection once in a while.

Is the poor signal area related?
 
I did a quick search and couldn't find the answer to my simple questions...

Afrihost SIM cards marked LTE I assume do not need any additional activation?

Is the APN the same for LTE as for HSPA?
 
With afrihost and axxess simcards you need to request LTE to be activated.

If you use the apn option then you can call 808 for contract to activate or prepaid lte sims will activate LTE automatically.

The apn stays the same.

The LTE provisioning isn't automatic. We have to do it for you. Drop me a PM and I can sort that for you :)

APN is exactly the same - but some devices need it set up separately, like iPhone.
 
So. Extremely. Slow. The. Last. Few. Days.

This is in Cape Town. Signal is good, just really, really slow. Que pasa?
 
The Republic of Pinelandia. It's up and down, but on average a lot slower than normal. Right now my tethered Cell C phone is faster, and that's saying a lot.

Is this your normal end-of-the-month funk? Seriously, every month end you cap me early or it just doesn't work.

We definitely don't want people to be cut off, it actually makes more sense for everyone to use up their data. If you do get the capped error, please try waiting about 10-15 minutes rom seeing the page and then rebooting the device. Your account should automatically be refreshed.
 
Are the account usage sms/email notifications working?
Been Capped twice in the last couple of days with no notification. Last one was at 1.8 GB

Before blaming anybody

I just want to check with everybody. When I am under 1GB left on my account and try to connect I get (Connection terminated)

This will go on for 10min then ill finally connect.

Just checking it could be my tower doing funky stuff

That shouldn't be happening... Have you perhaps been able to test connecting from a different region?

It's not you, it's them. EVERY month, WITHOUT fail, this nonsense starts within a few days of the end of the month. I get capped early, I don't get a connection, I can connect but there's no throughput, it's dog, dog slow. Something between Afrihost and MTN just donders over near the end of every month.

100% I need to hit the connection button for 10 min before I can connect.

We are aware of these issues, to my knowledge it doesn't get any better or worse in general according to the time of the month, some users experience this at different times.

If you do hit the capped page, remember that you can try rebooting your device 10-15 minutes later and it should have automatically refreshed your account settings, which is what we generally do anyway to get you connected again.
