Am i right to say that if I order a second data SIM, I need to order a second Plus to double its data?

Performance has been quite bad this evening - not sure if it's an AH or MTN tower issue.

That is absolutely correct.

There was a promise of being able to share data between SIMs in the Pool Data thread. Unfortunately, all the reps have been studiously ignoring that thread for a few months, so I'll ask here:- what's happening with being able to share data across SIMs?

Suspect it's AH, cos it's been a dog here too tonight. Overseas sites worse than local.

No general issues on our side. In terms of performance, we get exactly same network access as the mymtn APN, so it's more likely to be an issue in the are or demand :(

Alberton.

My signal is always quite bad but the connection is generally pretty stable.

Last night I had to reset the connection on the Mifi device multiple times.

It's really difficult for us to keep up with all the side threads that pop -so this is the only official thread where you'll always get a response.

We're not looking at any immediate plans to implement this, at the moment there are some restrictions we can't easily overcome to make this work. We still have it on our wishlist - but no promises I can make here :(

Did you test different devices or different SIMs - just to be sure this isn't a technical glitch.

I didn't actually.

I suspect it was more a problem with MTN signal than anything else though - it can be very flaky where I stay.

Seriously? There is this thread which is posted to basically daily, then the Pool Data thread, last posted to two days ago on the 20th, and the next oldest thread is two weeks ago, from the 5th. I manage to read every thread in this subforum as a customer who wants to keep himself informed, and I doubt it takes me more than ten minutes a day on average. There are exactly 12 threads that have been posted to in the last two months, and if you exclude this one the other 11 have an average of 12 posts over their entire life, not too onerous a task to keep up with them.

By all means tell me that you missed that thread but please don't insult my intelligence by telling me it's too much work for one of the three or four of you to read all the threads in your very own subforum. You should actually consider subscribing to the subforum. It's named after you

Are these restrictions technical or financial? I'm afraid I'll find it difficult to believe you if you say technical, because it's not really a tricky problem.

When this was posted I assume AfriGenie was being a little premature and we can write this off as something isn't going to happen?

Hello!

This is definitely something we are looking at implementing on our Mobile Data packages, and we are hoping that you won't have to wait too long for this to be implemented.

For the moment though, I believe MTN is the only SP that does actually have the functionality to share data between multiple sim cards.

Priorities change, and projects get shifted around and updated continuously. At the moment, as AfriMan has pointed out, our Team has been focused on another major project and for the moment the shared Data Pool is not something we are considering at the moment.

So any ideas what's up with MTN now? or have they simply over subscribed this service as well?

And a Vodacom sim for comparison:

Sorry about that :(
Not seeing any general issues this evening. Was throughput OK earlier today?
