That's very odd. What DNS servers are being used?
Odd that you aren't able to ping it at all though.

To date I have not been able to locate the DNS server settings on the mobile device. The APN is set to Afrihost and all other websites resolves without issue. Disconnecting my samsung phone from the mifi device allows me to browse to www.raspberrypi.org.

Auto DNS should be fine, you can also test Google's DNS though.
So disconnecting a device from the network allows you to browse the site?

I think we are missing each other. I'm using a Huawei E5577 LTE Mobile wifi with Afrihost sim card.
As far as I'm aware (and please correct me if I'm wrong), the DNS settings can not be changed on the Huawei E5577 device.
When I connect to the mobile wifi device I'm not able to browse to www.raspberrypi.org. I can also not ping www.raspberrypi.org.
Connecting to a different network (Vodacom on my Samsung phone, ADSL on the laptop), allows me to browse to that website.

I wish it was that easy, haven't changed anything I'm afraid.
I've got my MiFi out running some tests too :)

Mmm, something strange is going on. Was working, now it is broken again:

Hhhmm, that is pretty odd.
I wasn't able to replicate the issues over the weekend - did you try settings your DNS to Google's DNS?

Is there anyone else having connectivity issues today using LTE or 3g on the Afrihost Mobile APN?

JHB

Not aware of any overall issues.
Shoot me a PM with your details and I'll see if I can spot anything on your account :)

Can an Afriperson sort out my account problems? Support by email guys don't really understand and I think you guys are more clued up.

Problem: Mobile 20 set to pause til June 24th. Got two seperate bills, one correctly billing pro-rata for June and then all of July. The other billing for all of June. Strangely, was given 20GB twice, not 20GB and (7/30*20=) 4.6GB. NB no Afrihost+ at that stage. I then added plus and I now have 80 GB! And it hasn't dissapeared on July 1 which is good.

Don't need 80GB, don't want to pay for it, didn't order it.

My 500meg from AH+ has again failed to load onto my voice sim... Getting really tired of this at the start of every month.

Same problem on my account. Only on the 3rd or 4th my airtime and data shows. For some reason currently I have no data or airtime, clientzone also shows zeros all around.

Hey nicklear! Sounds like you're sitting with a bit of a peculiar issue... I think it would be a bit easier for me to assist once I've looked at your account. Please drop me a PM with your account details and we can take it from there. :)

Hey ScottulusMaximus! Is this a recurring issue? This might need to be logged with our development team. Do you have any open support tickets regarding the matter?

Not cool! :( We've been seeing some reports of delayed airtime allocation over the weekend... Are you still sitting with the same problem this morning?

Yes this is a recurring issue. Support once again comes back with "AH+ benefit cannot be loaded onto pre-paid sim" which is bull**** quite frankly since you can load this onto an MTN pre-paid sim(this is specifically pointed out in fact) and there is NO mention of this restriction anywhere I can find.

I got my free 500meg beginning of this month after fighting last month so it's possible to do, some manager has just decided on a product restriction to deal with edge cases that then shafts honest customers.

There is also still my issue of auto-topup not activating correctly, I was on 0Mb because bundles expired and I didn't get the AH+ benefit and still my auto-topup didn't activate. I only found out about this once I had left for the day on Saturday and then had no data connection.

First Ticket: FSE-384-50349
Second Ticket: XE-660-28808
Thrid Ticket: JIR-195-16271

Just had a look through the tickets, I believe the 500MB data you're trying to allocate is on a prepaid package. I'm afraid the 500MB benefit can't be allocated on a prepaid package, only on a month to month package.

Just to clear things up though, the benefit can be allocated to any SIM. It's the data package you have with us where this isn't possible. Saying that though, I believe our Dev team are working on something to allow this functionality.

Are you 100% sure that auto-topups and limits are set on ClientZone?

Yes this I gather, and it's nonsense. If you offer this to MTN prepaid customers your own customers should get this as well. Not acceptable, especially since it is not mentioned anywhere.

Yes I am certain, I have done it 3 times and had help here on myBB and from support staff to activate it and it STILL does not work. This is even more irritating than the above issue as everytime it happens I get the above response, for the last time:

Untitled.png

I have not had one auto-topup work, voice or data. It goes to R0 or 0Mb and nothing happens. The balances on there now I loaded manually.
