Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Hi, it has been resolved, Please send me a PM with your Airmobile number so I can check.
Thanks i figured out the issue after knowing it was fixed, my phone must have restored connection yesterday during loadshedding and stayed on mobile data instead of wifi and i burned through all my data whoops!

MTN does deactivate sim cards that have not had active use of calls or SMSes in 90 days.
If the SIM receives calls and SMS's, does this count? Or does the SIM need to actively initiate a call or send an SMS.

Yes, it does count. As long as MTN can pick up the activity of the sim on their network.

@Afrigirl

Have received 2 of these SMS's, to the MTN cell number provisioned to Afrihost mobile.

The username is that same cell number ; I'm concerned it's nefarious instead of just regular spam.

All I find listed in SA relating to "Hollywood" is Hollywood bets or Hollywood slots.
I'm interested in neither, nor anything to do with "Hollywood mobile".

Is Afrihost aware of them ?
.... and / or, is MTN behind this or simply letting it through (?), because I've previously blocked all advert etc. options in both MTN's app, and prior to that, by USSD codes.

Essentially, what is that username and password for, and can Afrihost block that service from registering my number ?

Thanks.

Hi

This number was most likely in use before where someone used the service and is now trying to reset credentials for those logins.

Hi

Please pm me and Afrigirl the number in question.

I'm wanting to setup Afrihost LTE (via MTN) for a holiday house. But signal is pretty bad downstairs, so thinking of getting an external antenna and mounting it up high close to the roof, or even perhaps inside the roof.

I know that there are the Huawei 4G router that can accept external antenna's, but does Afrihost have any of such stock?

I have a problem with Afrihost Pure LTE. This is what I am getting today. Either nothing or less than 1mb/s download. I had a problem on the 11th which got resolved on the 13th by afrigirl. I logged it this morning and contacted Afrigirl again, and she wanted images which I had difficulty loading then, so problem not sorted. Only way I can access internet is using my Vodacom data. I am not impressed with Aftihost and MTN.

I have logged a fault with MTN; REQ000003783832. Please reboot the router; the number has also been reset.
