Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Anyone else’s connection intermittent? I have had periods of no internet for hours each day in various locations since beginning of last week. Full signal, MTN working fine, Afrihost apn not working.

Hi, does anyone know how long the SIM provisioning process takes? It's going to be 2 days today and the last update for me is that a request was sent to MTN. It's just been crickets since which sucks...

I don't see a fixed LTE thread So just gonna ask here

I have somebody that wants to sign up for the Fixed LTE from mtn/afrihost but I see its tower locked.

If that tower goes offline due to load shedding or having a fault will it just not lock on to the next tower?

If we use the product and see the tower is congested at say night can we maybe see if we can lock on to the next tower?


They want to use it to work from home, no fiber available there.

My afrihost package you select the physical address,i'm not sure if it's more "geo locked" than "tower locked"
 
Also your https://www.afrihost.com/resources/network_coverage_map/ when I use it and click the location the GET fixed lte now takes me to mtn website instead of afrihost signup

Good morning.
It is important to give us the correct address where the product will be used, as the LTE-A SIM card will be locked to the location they specified during sign-up. It is not tower-locked but location-locked.
Please share this link with them so they can check for coverage https://www.afrihost.com/lte/

Do you mind assisting me? Using your coverage map it shows they have, the thing is using the Plot adress does not work it does not show up so I don't have a address just the gps as below 1695710453967.png
 
I need to buy and manage mobile data for my parents; I'm considering moving them over to Afrihost Mobile. All 3 SIMS are MTN prepaid.
* Do you have data sharing options?
* Can I have more than 1 number linked to my Afrihost account? Or is it limited to 1 email address -> 1 mobile number?

You can transfer data between Air Mobile packages.
For Air Mobile packages, the client can sign up for up to six packages.

I'm guessing these are only available from the Afrihost App?

Yes, you can use the app to sign up, by selecting "Add a new product" --> "Air Mobile"
 
@AfriNatic Are there any known issues with MTN traffic being handed over to you guys in CPT?

Since about Sunday it seems like my traffic is being picked up in JHB instead of CPT. (I'm based in PE)

Have you rebooted or is it still on since Sunday?

CPT has been very unreliable recently with constant drops in the DFA links between MTN Tygerberg and Teraco Rondebosch causing traffic to fail over to JHB. Today it's been relatively stable.

yep, session has only been up for 1 hour & 30 mins.
Not a big deal, was mostly just wondering if you were aware of any issues.

I am having an issue with a TP-Link MR600 at a friend's place.
Whenever this router loses power it loses its APN config and defaults to MTN (I think because the SIM card is an Afrihost one that is on the MTN network).
This is currently frustrating two old people who I have to talk through changing the APN each and every time.
Anyone know why this router does this? Is there a fix?
I am asking this here because the Afrihost APN is the one I want to use.

I need your help I need to add my current MTN number to my profile as I am cancelling my contract with MTN and planning to use Afrihost mobile going forward for calls and data.

When I try to add my number it says I have reached the limit to my profile for sims. Any chance I can get one addition?

Currently my wife and kid's numbers are all under my profile and we have them for our iPads and phones.

If not possible, can I migrate my wife's iPad SIM etc to her existing profile with Afrihost?

Another question: I have a big fear of my sim being swapped and the scammers getting access to my and the company's bank account. What can I do to prevent sim swops with my showing ID or something?
