Afrihost Mobile Feedback

Air Mobile SIMs only expire if there was no airtime or data loaded/used in 150 days
Clear and concise not being purposefully ingored by AH since having pointed out their mistakes would be nice...

So I am asking because previously we have been told that simcard given to you by AH does not expire and they keep it alive.

However, I have my doubts about this and wanted to make sure for my current product I am on which is a simple monthly mtn 5G capped and came with 5G zte zpe router.

If this is so, do I just use it as is, do I take it out into a phone, do I need to actually load something on it, etc.

So it's just a general query.

LTE Sims do not expire.

Legacy MTN Sims issued by Afrihost also does not expire, unless cancelled.

I found an Air Mobile MTN Sim in a drawer the other day, put it in a phone and it is still active on the MTN network, probably about 3 years since it was in a device. Was used for WhatsApp Business for 6 months or so.

MTN prepaid SIMs did expire if only used on Afrihost apn and no calls made.

I think at one point Afrihost was loading a small amount of Airtime on Sims used for data only to keep them alive on MTNs side.

Any update on VoLTE and VoWiFi on AirMobile?
3G almost nonexistent in our town with MTN refarming spectrum for 4G. So, calls are becoming a struggle as of late.

Using a MTN Prepaid SIM and calls are fine as VoLTE works.

Hi.

Unfortunately, we do not have ETA on when these features will be fully rolled out for MVNO.

Support call logged yesterday, no feedback yet.

I discovered yesterday, from a WhatsApp support agent, that Air Mobile does not allow incoming international calls. No wonder my colleagues cannot get hold of me. :(

That is untrue. I received a few without issue.

Checking the ticket. You should be able to make or receive international calls.

This is so frustrating. What about international roaming, is this also still not working? I've been waiting to port over to Airmobile ever since you guys relaunched, but I simply cannot be without VoWIFI and international roaming. I don't understand how MTN is still getting away with crippling their MVNO offerings like this.

We have an exciting promo for you.

Air Mobile 2 for 6 promo is now live. Topup with the new 2GB topup option for R60 and get 4GB free. That means you get 6GB of data for R60.

Ready to pay R10 per GB of data. Get an Air Mobile prepaid esim or physical and topup with the 2Gig option. :)

@Afrigirl @AfriGuy @AfriNatic

Hi need some help please.

I have a issue with a USSD code *120*156* via AirMobile it says Service code not supported.

But if I use the same USSD code on my cell c number it works fine but I can't complete the process since I used the Airmobile number to register a account.

Hi.

Sound like a whitelisting issue.
Please drop me a DM with the number in question so I can escalate with MTN.

Hey AfriTeam,

Any update on VoLTE and VoWiFi?
MTN'S 3G network is really becoming poorer in quality by the week as MTN refarm spectrum.

Our phones dropping down to 3G to complete a call fails most times, and call quality is bad.

Bump - I hope Afrihost are putting pressure on MTN to get this implemented?
Or is it time to port back to MTN?

The mysterious thing is that I've seen many Melon Mobile users claim that VoWIFI and VoLTE works on Melon Mobile despite them also being an MTN MVNO. And Afrihost claims that they can't implement VoWIFI because MTN does not allow MVNOs to do so.
