Afrihost Mobile: Still No Delivery!

No, Im saying that you are getting a free device, and they have admitted that they are experiencing problems AND you have changed your address to a different province. Therefore yes, disregard the deadline. Is it going to kill you?

Also, your second point is very debatle. Having a problematic customer such as yourself may not be good for the company i.e negative/bad press, which is exactly what you are doing right now. So keeping you might bring an income of R145 a month, but scare away 3 customers because of your negative ranting. Therefore actually losing out business.

Again with the free Mifi device story? Not sure if you saw but I mentioned that I changed my delivery address approximately 2 and a half weeks ago - before they even packaged the parcel. Surely that is sufficient time for them to realise the correct delivery address?

As for the "debatable" point. In business obviously there will be hiccups. It's all about customer service and how the company rectifies the situation. By Afrihost not sticking to the agreement/deadline, am I as a paying customer not allowed to complain about the service? Imagine spending time/effort by being in constant contact with a company who assures everything is on track, then suddenly it's not and all they can say is, we tried but tough luck. I'm more aggitsted by the customer service which I got than the actual parcel not being delivered.

And just btw, I actually invited 4 other people who did sign up as well so the 3 which I chase away from this thread is negated!:P

Did the 4 others receive their devices?

In all honesty I don't think this is AfriHost's fault, just a VERY BAD CHOICE in courier companies,

I ordered my device on the 20th August

10 days later its sitting with the couriers - Since last Friday (30th August 2013) today its almost a full week and the parcel hasn't been dispatched as yet.

see attached.

As far as I am aware, only one person has received theirs. There's so many empty promises by MDS couriers I.e "our driver is en route" or "Our driver is approximately 1km from you". Blah blah blah.

Quite entertaining: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/554047-Afrihost-Mobile-Delivery-Feedback-Thread/page98

Seems like Cape Town is getting the worst of it.

Ultimately, Afrihost will bear the brunt as they elected to use a budget courier.

I very much doubt they will bear the brunt of it. So what if people have to wait a few extra days. I just don't see the point of ranting about a company who honestly tries to do their best.

I don't mind waiting, but the support team are telling me its on-route blah blah, so everyday I carry my ID document for the RICA, I live in Pinetown where this is gold for muggers, would just appreciate an honest and correct delivery time. That's all.

Kudos to Afrihost for offering such a great offer, but support and delivery can really be improved.

So that's a fair statement. Big difference to what pozmans is saying. You are providing constructive criticism he is just slandering off the companies name.

Shiveer ... my sister is in the same batch as you. Handed to the courier at exactly the same time, and she is in Durban central.

I think at the end of today, Afrihost needs to take stock of those deliveries that were not completed. An individual email should go out to those customers letting them know the revised schedule for delivery.

The blanket notice on Afrihost's site is not good enough, because like you, she is in Durban and I sincerely doubt that the delivery will be completed today.

I ordered this product for her, and if it was her directly, I assure you she would have written off Afrihost as a bad company to deal with, notwithstanding that it is a courier issue. That's just customer perception.

Afrihost ... take note of the suggestion.

At least if I had the waybill number I could go to the courier and pick this up myself and complete the rica process on their premises with my documents, causing less of a bottleneck in the deliveries,

Afrihost has contacted all who haven't received devices and given them 5GB extra in Oct. Kudos to them for ownership and customer service!

can confirm i also got an email with 5gb for october

/awaits pozmans to complain it should be 10gigs instead of 5. How dare they.

Let's see if I can track down your waybill number for you.
Drop me a PM with your account info and I'll see what I can dig up :)

I hold that exact sentiment! How dare they only give us 5GB extra! RELAX F1, I'm kidding!;) This is the type of customer service which I was talking about.

Throughout the week, all I wanted was a truthful answer about the whereabouts of my parcel. At least they've taken responsibility and told us that it wont be delivered. Nevertheless, this 5GB extra, has exceeded my expectation = happy customer.
