Well, mine didn't arrive today, despite assurances that it would from two separate people at the courier. If they only come out here on Saturdays, then I won't have another shot at receiving it until next weekend... gutted.

It's the only place I know I'll be for the next month… question is, is it a deadline you can meet? That only in October isn't it. Pretty sure nobody wants to wait until then. Otherwise I'd be happy to hand them out
I'd have to become a RICA agent though (thus revealing my super-secret identity)![]()
Some of the depots with huge backlogs are delivering over the weekend. The guys are really pushing to get this sorted for our clients, which we think is great initiative![]()

I understand, but what annoys me is that I called the courier at 11:30 on Saturday and was assured that the driver had my parcel and would be delivering. I therefore cancelled my plans for the day (braai and rugby) and waited around for him, but he never pitched. Additionally, if the courier that MDS gave my parcel to (InterTown Transport), only services my area on Saturdays, then it means I will have to wait until next Saturday, where I may waste another day waiting around for a package that may or may not arrive.
I have not read this whole thread, so it is possible I have some key stuff.
Ironic that you missed the word missed![]()

I am a customer from hell - I do expect service and get very annoyed when what I have paid for is not delivered. I have to remind myself from time to time that I am in Africa and not a first world country as I think I expect first world service too often. For me my frustration is really with companies who mess up but never take ownership for it and always try and blame someone else or just pretend it never happened.
In this situation Afrihost had far greater demand than expected and ended up giving out way more deals than they had promised (great customer service). Then the logistics company simply could not be expected to deliver every mifi on time - remember TIA - and Afrihost says that to all late deliveries you will get 5 free gigs next month. For me I can only respect them for trying to do something to make up for something that in many ways was out of their hands.
I actually would have been more than happy if my mifi was lateAnyway respect to them for the way they have handled things. At the end of the day, no matter what they did, some people will never be happy. I do believe that they have really tried to do thier best and thanks to AfriMan for all the time he has invested on this forum.
And no I do not work for Afrihost![]()
I am glad that they offered 5 extra GB data.
I received a mail from Johan van Heerden from Collivery on Thursday (5th) evening stating that I would receive a package from Afrihost on Friday (6th). On Friday morning I called Collivery to arrange a delivery time as the delivery address is my workplace and we close at 3PM on Fridays. The person on the phone made note of this and said that they would convey this information to the driver. At 1:45PM (Friday) I phoned the courier services once again to confirm the package arrival time, the person on the phone assured me that the driver would be at my workplace by 3PM latest. At 3PM my workplace closed and I was forced to wait outside in the parking lot. Once again I called the courier, this time the lady said that she would contact the driver to find out where he is and then call me back.
After waiting for an hour in my car I gave up and went home in peak hour traffic, without the mifi device and without the promised call back. All of this could have been avoided if the courier had just told me that the package would not be arriving on the day.
This morning I called the so-called courier 'service' and was informed that the package would be with me sometime later in the day but they were unable to give me a time. I just called the courier 10 minutes ago and now the package is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow morning.
According to the instructions sent to me by both Collivery and Afrihost I need to have a proof of residence not older than 3 months, but with the way things are going I’m probably going to have to get a Telkom bill later than August 2013 if this is the type of ‘service’ Collivery delivers. Perhaps Afrihost should schedule that extra 5GB for around December some time so that we can actually make use of it after we actually receive the sim card.
Phoned the Durban office on Friday, said Monday, phoned again today said tomorrow, lets see...
