So I'm starting to think I'm never going to get my device and data! I've contacted Afrihost about my tracking number however they give me an Afrihost tracking number which is different from the courier so the courier cannot pick up. I've called the courier to try see if they can see me on the system but no luck! Afrihost in turn doesnt know the assigned courier tracking number!

I changed my address from Cape Town to Johannesburg specifically for delivery because I'm here for business this week but I'm leaving back to Cape Town again this weekend. Is my package gonna be stuck in Jobirg now?!

Is there a way to find out my tracking number with the courier?

What is the waybill number you received on the email from collivery? That is your tracking number.

Our courier is on a deadline to deliver all pre-ordered Mobile Data by Gian's promised date of 6 September. However there are several issues which are holding this back. We're getting many clients who are not available at the delivery time, don't have their RICA documents or make the courier wait while they finish a meeting, etc. Each of these incidents cause massive delays for the individual courier trying to hit his target for the day.

Despite this, they guys are doing an amazing job. We were told that they are still hitting over 90% of their daily targets, which is incredible given the volume and complexity of these deliveries.

We're confident that everyone who pre-ordered (without payment or admin issues) will receive their goods on time :)

Well done Afrihost... NOT! So I got my MDS waybill and found out my package is in Cape Town when I clearly changed my address to Johannesburg. So useless!

No point in getting it couriered back to Jhb since MDS is such a bad courier, it'll probably take them 2 days to get it back to Jhb and by that time, I'll be back in Cape Town. So can only have it delivered on Monday! Grrrr!

I ordered my device on the 20th, people who I work with ordered after me and got theirs last week, I am still waiting for mine even after several support tickets I have still not so much as a tracking number!

Bad Afrihost, Bad bad Afrihost.

All I got from Afrihost support was "we tried our best to change the delivery address. Sorry." Absolutely Pathetic! I'm reconsidering whether or not to stay with them even, Telkom has better customer care and that's saying something!

Shame on Afrihost!

So let's get this straight: You ordered the package, gave them an address and you got a promise of 06 September as the final date of delivery. You then changed your address to a complete different province and still expect the deadline to apply? To make matters worse, you bitch about the fact that you have not received your FREE device and threaten to leave? Im sure Telkom will be running to have you as a customer.

Yes in fact that's exactly what I did. However I didn't change my delivery address when they sent out the email about confirming delivery addresses. I changed it right after I signed up (20th August 2013) and even confirmed with Afrihost Support that it would be delivered to the correct address. I'm sorry I assumed that Afrihost would be competent.

I don't see how getting a free mifi device is relevant to the argument? I paid for a service, the least they could do is deliver to the correct place. I don't really give two hoots about the Mifi device, I just want the APN to use with my current MTN sim on my iPhone which already has a wifi hotspot. And FYI, I'm not with Telkom, I was merely stating they are worse than than Telkom customer care.

Btw, which Afrihost department do you work in?

I was thinking just that - they probably better off without him anyway.

EDIT: Oh wait, I guess I work for Afrihost now too

I don't work for Afrihost, did not sign up for the deal (I don't need a MIFI) and don't even have a paying product with them. I just think your attitude is absolutely ridiculous for someone that is receiving something for free. They had to get out 8000 devices, the fact that certain people do not have documents ready, and others who have changed address surely has not helped them. So hows about giving them some time? If you not happy, then why not cancel the whole deal and ask them not to deliver?

Don't be a whiney little bitch.

Afrihost doesn't need you, but still they try the best they can.

Mobile Data Delivery Update

We would like to thank everyone for their patience while waiting to get their Mobile Packages.
The couriers have tried their utmost to deliver as many devices as possible before 6th September however, there have been some unforeseen delays resulting in some areas not getting their deliveries in time for which we apologise.

Pretoria deliveries can expect completion on Monday 9 September as a result of a high volume of orders.
Cape Town deliveries can expect completion by Tuesday 10 September as a result of a high volumes of orders and the extreme weather conditions that led to rain and flooding.
Durban deliveries can expect completion on Friday 6 September. Due to the oil spill on the highway Monday, no deliveries were done on Tuesday.

Again, we would like to apologise for any frustration the delays in the delivery of your mobile package has caused.

If you have any question or require more information, our team is always on hand to assist. You can contact us via Twitter, Facebook, Google + or call us on 011 612 7200.

Thank you
The Afrihost Team

Thank you for proving my point. If you can't logically counter my argument and the points which I provided then I'll take that!;)

Please could you answer any of my points which I put across in the previous post? If you going argue fallaciously then there's no point in having this discussion. How does getting a free Mifi device impact on the situation, are you saying that because I'm getting a free Mifi device that's not going to used in any case (irrelevant anyway) that they are allowed to disregard the deadline set by Gian?

They have not delivered and that's a fact. I would cancel but unfortunately the likes of Mtn and Vodacom bleed consumers dry by charging R148 for 1GB of data. There's no choice but to try this package out. All I'm saying is that its not a good start.

And I'm glad none of you who criticise me, saying Afrihost is better off without me, are running big multinational companies. If you think someone's money is too good for you then good luck in the business world! Everything has a knock on effect.

No, Im saying that you are getting a free device, and they have admitted that they are experiencing problems AND you have changed your address to a different province. Therefore yes, disregard the deadline. Is it going to kill you?

Also, your second point is very debatle. Having a problematic customer such as yourself may not be good for the company i.e negative/bad press, which is exactly what you are doing right now. So keeping you might bring an income of R145 a month, but scare away 3 customers because of your negative ranting. Therefore actually losing out business.
