Afrihost Mobile

No. The service is prepaid not the sim card, aka month-to-month.

What took you so long on your first post?

How can I get afrihost Sim card or can I use mtn

Sign up for a data bundle service from afrihost and they will send you a sim... or if you have an existing MTN contract they can provision your existing MTN sim on the afrihost APN.

is the Afrihost Mobile pre-paid simcard?

Hi!

The Sim Cards that we provide are linked to fully Month-to-Month Mobile Data Packages.

From a Technical Stand-point the Sim Cards are linked to MTN's Contract System, making them Contract Sim Card as opposed to Pre-Paid Sim Cards but this in no way affects our Clients. :)

can you explain a bit more here. speaking to one of your technical guys, they indicated that this would work on a prepaid sim as well. When i ran through one of your deals, at no point did it kick me out to say that i am on a prepaid number and that i cant get that bundle deal

I can't really go into any detail here, but if you drop me a PM I can give you the full run down. :)

I think ill wait it out rather

I was skeptical as well. I've been on CellC for years. As soon as I saw the thread with people reporting it was working on Prepaid, I ported over to MTN and signed up for AH Mobile data.

It works. It's been around 3 weeks now. No issues.

ive given it a bash now on the 500MB bundle, as that would be low risk. if it works, ill definately sign up to at 1GB bundle as that is good value for money

my sim is active on the Afrihost network, however by when can i expect to get my data? got my sms now to say i have been successfully provisioned. Did the Apn change and im all good. Just need to know when to expect the data. Will i be getting another sms to confirm this?

ie can i still check my data balances the same way i did with MTN? or do i need to use the Client Zone?

*** fantastic, chuffed to bits about this working. Downloaded the Afrihost app to check data balances, which is another plus. Although i have to use data to check my data :-)

Thanks Afrihost guys

I have a Zest phone with a Vodacom SIM for voice and the original MTN data SIM that came with the Zest for use with the Afrihost 12 Gig data bundle sold with the Zest. Please tell me how to use the 1 Gig free data Afrihost now allocates to me every month.
How do I get the 1 Gig data connected to the MTN SIM or must I get a new SIM?
