On another note.
Can I use my new B535 for my fixed lte or still not?
I don't have telkom coverage :-(
When is MTN updating their router list?
I can't even find a B525 new in stores anymore.
Maybe as long as it's a CAT6 or above router it won't lock
Really sorry for the downtime. We are working with MTN to resolve the issue asap.
Is it the entire LTE network or only partially?
I hit up the Whatsapp support who suggested I try to reset the router. At that stage, I cut my losses and left. I hate to be the one to complain but I've always been left disappointed when dealing with Afrihost support. Specifically the general lack of comprehension skills as well as the impression that they know as much about what's going on as me. It's not at all a fair representation of how good Afrihost's services are.
The second hand routers, particularly from people who recently acquired fibre, are usually in really good shape and vastly cheaper than new, you should definitely check around classifieds and here + Carbonite. I don't even remember the last time I bought a brand new router unless it was ISP mandatedI don't have telkom coverage :-(

Incredibly fustrating, but you still cannot use the B535 or B818, rather they still have support for only the B618 and B525 in relation to that product line. they should really add the new routers to the list considering the B618 is discontinuedOn another note.

We noticed that some clients had a password or username set with their apn and that caused some authentications on the APN to fail.
Please make sure there is no username and password set in the APN settings.

I have a few questions, @AfriNatic , in 2 separate posts.
I see in the updated Huawei setup, there's now "b3 only" and "b40 only" ; for me the b40 option does nothing (router light stays red when it resets). The b3 worked & I could do a speedtest / use the connection - was about mid-20's down which is lower than I usually get on "Auto". What is the "b3" equivalent to - an 1800Mhz frequency ? ... and is "b40" equal to Telkom's 2300Mhz, or is it 2600 (and available only to some towers) ?
@AfriNatic - can you explain why in this speed-test below, I was temporarily connected to Axxess (I'm aware Afri. owns them) ; is it supposed to be a fail-over, and part of the maintenance that was going on a few nights ago ?
If so, the results were terrible, so hopefully this doesn't become a "feature" of Afri's LTE solution.
Shortly after that test, I set the router back to "4G only" from "Auto", and it was still on Axxess, but I couldn't even load a page for a short while. After some time, it reverted back to "Air Mobile".
Keen to know what's going on, as I thought Afri. and Axxess ran separate operations ?
