Anyone else noticed same? Yesterday said 1300KM so i think routing is going via JHB again.

@cavedog hit us with the technical breakdown when you on later :sneaky:. Thank you again for the sim.:notworthy::giggle:

Edit: International test done now.

I realised the MTN LTE is not going to work for me. It is super fast for local uploads and downloads. But it is flippen slow trying to upload and download files to NZ servers or anything outside of SA.
Even my 0.500 Mbps telkom line upload and download faster.

Maybe it is me, I don't know. Can't to speedtests now as my data is basically finished.

For example, been trying to download from here: http://www.pdfill.com/download.html , Direct Link to the File: http://www.plotsoft.com/download/PDFill_FREE_PDF_Editor_Basic.msi

23.2 MB file and it going absolutely nowhere.

Telkom ADSL it downloads fine, slow, but consistent as usual.

Rubbish.

Definitely not just you, been like this for about 2 weeks for me. Local flies, international unusable

Disgusting.

Not a peep from any of the reps.
I have tagged and PM'd all the reps and even Gian.
I also emailed Gian.
Email support has not replied.

Awesomeness.

F***.
Still got one more month of this s***.
I can understand that networks have issues.
But the fact that support has been non-existent leaves a very sour taste in my mouth.
I get now why there are so many threads about how bad AH is. How the mighty have fallen. Sad really.

Absolute nonsense. If they can't provide the service, return our money. Rather go through Supersonic directly than suffer through this.

Fine here as I've mentioned numerous times before...I guess I have just been v lucky indeed with speeds and tower availability even during LS'ing...

I suspect severe tower congestion at certain times of day/night for most ppl experiencing unacceptably low dl's and v high pings....all depends on usage/demand in your area and local tower.

@AfriMan

My side, it is definitely not that. I tested my MTN contract sim in the router.
Same device, same tower - speeds are 100% where they should be.
Switch back to AH MTN sim and back to nonsense.

If it were congestion, wouldn't local speeds show signs of degradation? My local speeds are still very good (70+ mbps) nearly all the time. But international is dead in the water.

At this time of night even my speeds are sometimes drastically reduced...
Tonight is an exception rather than the rule for me though...never seen my speeds so bad at sub 10mbps and even uploads less than 10.

5-10pm is peak time both here and in most of Europe so coming from 9000 km away and many African countries sharing same route using 1 or 2 already overloaded underwater cables it's hardly surprising speeds and pings are v bad...

I must be retarded, but how do u see a detailed breakdown of data usage? Apparently my daytime data is finished...but theres no way to see how much i've used...besides the random mails that don't even make sense.

Get the mobile app from the play store. The detailed usage is much better.

Lol I see you have the same problem...seems like such a waste, in this day and age everyone is just streaming, can't do that while asleep.

And the thing is - all of this month's used data and some from the roll over data from last month has all been used on bloody speedtests (comparing different local and international servers).
Can't stream anything as I stream from international sites. Resorted back to my 10 mbps adsl line as at least I can stream from international sites. Makes the AH MTN sim seem like a snail in comparison.

Also getting very poor international speeds tonight. My location is in Sandton, Johannesburg. Hope this problem is resolved very soon otherwise Telkom prepaid bundles will be my next port of call!
