Afrihost MTN Fixed LTE-A Thread

Okay it's been unlocked by MTN. Please change network selection to Auto again and see if you get network now. If not then it has to be the router.
Changed it to auto and still no service.

I just don’t understand how it cannot work on 2 of my own personal routers (not network locked) yet my Telkom and Vodacom lte sims do work on both of them.

It's possible that MTN is blocking it but from the info we can see it's not clear.

What I can do is log a ticket with MTN for you and see what they say if they can see the device attempting to connect or not.

On another note, I see the MR600 is a compatible router, would the MR6400 also be compatible or not at all?

It's not the the approved list but it would be interesting to see if you get any signal on that router.

Ah okay. Only reason I ask is because a friend of mines has a spare MR6400 so wondering if it’s worth the drive because right now I’m dying from lack of internet access 🤣
 
I have a B525 loan unit I can loan you if you want to meet up at Afrihost HQ?
Hi there, I’m not with Afrihost but using Fixed LTE with Supersonic. I’m facing an issue where I get less than 10 Mbps download and only 0.1 Mbps upload, while with an MTN prepaid SIM on the same tower, I easily get 170 Mbps+ download. Do you have any insight into what might be causing this drastic difference in speeds on the same network infrastructure?

Hi all. Haven't been in South Africa for a while so I'm quite ignorant on month-to-month LTE plans. I have an old Hauwei B315 router that I am hoping to take on holiday with us to the north coast of KZN. Would I be able to get an Afrihost SIM delivered to a relative in Pretoria and then take it down with me to the north coast? Needing connectivity for the family. Is Pure LTE a solution for this?

B315 is not supported on Pure LTE. There is the Telkom LTE packages that does not have a device list with Afrihost.

Hi.
You will need to check for coverage first, but the Huawei B315 is not approved for our PURE MTN LTE packages
The router would work on our Telkom LTE packages.
 
Good afternoon, I am having issues with my MTN Fixed LTE through Axxess. My service is constantly locking. I am using the sim in a modem at one location, when unlock i type in my area and it says I have service. The address seems to default back to East London Central, I dunno if this may be the issue. I have asked axxess to lock me onto the nearest tower, which the address pops up as a farm nearby but not my exact location. A lady at the call the center said this was done but when I access my dashboard the address is still showing as East London CBD. I am a new customer and this is extemely frustrating, it was working fine the first 2 days.

Anyone have any advice as to how this can be resolved, or if someone from axxess could maybe assist me through here?
 
had great LTE speed in terms of atleast avg 20 down 10 up is during the day and around 70+ night time now im just barely getting any speed

this is been tested on my B618 and B818 similar performance tested all the bands as well no joy this is the blazing fast speed im getting now atm

yes with you the reply was the tower is online and working , connection refreshed and ticked close < - - as this magically fixed the problem...

That was in March. When did the issue reoccur?
