So moved from my IS and Telkom softcap to a Afrihost 100GB with plus+ and wow so far this account is really freaking awesome compared to the others. I thought IS was good but so far and take note so far it has been Pure internet Joy with the Afrihost account.
Who is IS? Lol

Yesterday I did a couple of tracert's because I was having big problems with Afrihost network. I thought I would do one this morning to see if there could be a difference in performance. To my surprise, YES, there is a big difference. Webpages do not take an age to open.
Twitch works like a charm.

Afrihost told me yesterday that there is a problem with the line and that its telkom's fault, also that my exchange is congested itself overnight.

No idea whats wrong with the 3rd hop.

I'm gonna sign up today for Telkom LTE. I will post a picture here of my first speed test. Then cancel my adsl.

I am on a 10Mbps ADSL line in Cape Town area (100GB capped) and my streaming has just ground to a total stop. I have had brilliant streaming all day today and now this:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 1423 kbps (177.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 843 kbps (105.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 28 ms
‎2015‎/‎11‎/‎18‎ ‎10‎:‎18‎:‎46‎ ‎PM

So much for the great NEW network. Surely by now you must have got your act together so that we can have consistency. And no, it is not my exchange as back-up account operating at virtually full speed.

There were a ton of Telkom outages in the Cape Town area, especially around Seapoint and Milnerton. Some of those areas still seem to be down. If you drop me a PM, I can confirm if there was (is) an outage in your area :(

Absolutely awesome :)

Trace complete.

I definitely suspect either your line or exchange here. Seems like there is already latency on the second hop and it's intermittent, which fits what we're seeing throughout the trace route. One there is intermittent latency affecting the trace, it's hard to say how any subsequent hop might behave because of the intermittent nature :(

I think it's definitely best to report these issues to your Critical Care handler so that they can continue to work with you. Definitely not seeing these problems in general and we'd definitely like to get to the bottom of why your experience is so poor when the network is definitely performing well in general and in the North region :(

There could not have been an outage as my back up account worked just fine!

Should definitely be there if you signed up yesterday!
Could you PM me your DSL username so I can double check the data links?

Well, I have to give credit where credit is due!!!! I had an issue yesterday with the unlimited afterhours data that was not working on my new Afrihost Capped account (I am testing a couple of ISP products to decide who my new ISP will be when my MWEB account expire on 1 Dec).

AfriGuy sorted this out within minutes, and everything is working beautifully!!!

After such awesome service - guess who got themselves a new client...

Awesome dude, glad I could help!!
Welcome aboard :D

Hmmm... I also have a 60GB (was originally a 30GB+30GB) capped package... would like to know if the free data promo is included on it as well.

Not sure if this is being seen as a legacy listed package, as it's no longer on the site.
PM me your username and I'll query this with our Dev team for you.

I also have another 40GB+40GB account as well... also not available it seems.

PM has been sent.

Thanks again!

Uncapped afterhours does not show in the control panel until you used some. Working fine for me.

That's correct.
It works a little differently compared to the regular data links. Since there's no limit attached to it it'll only count what you've used, once you've used it :)

Hi I was under the impression that the 'Free afterhours data' would only start on 1 December.

Do the clients that singed up recently already have access to this 'promotion'?
