Can someone please tell me why my upload sync speed is only syncing at 2mb on my 40 mbps vdsl line. It was always syncing at 3mb...

I'm not sure honestly, we'll need to check for you. Can you PM me or AfriGuy your DSL line number please.

Ive decided to make AH my primary DNS and google my secondary.

That is definitely an option! :)

That should also ensure that you have a bit of redundancy with regards to DNS. Have you noticed anything strange happening with the performance since the change?

There's far too many afrippl now. Seems like they have hourly shifts on here so everytime u pm one, someone else comes online. Logging calls to them seems pointless to. Even telkom responded before afrihost ;/

That's not the case at all, in total there are 4 reps - but we all check our PMs regularly. So if you PM one of us, we'll always follow up with you from there :)
Anything I can chase up for you?

is this ASSIA thing where it drops the line speeds in the community when there is congestion?

@Afri_REPS:

I currently have a 10MB ADSL line through you guys. My line is now connected to a brand new MSAN and the area will officially get 40mb VDSL soon (tech on the ground confirmed).

I want to move my line to 20mb ADSL (NOT VDSL) but your next speed product up is a 20MB VDSL line. Telkom does offer 20MB ADSL so how do I go about getting the line bumped up to the chosen technology if I flick the switch in the clientzone?

Hey! :) ASSIA does not tend to drop a line's profile due to congestion, but rather due to poor line stats such as SNR or Attenuation. Check out this nifty blog that we published about ASSIA a few weeks ago. :)

Really cool to hear about your infrastrucutre upgrade! Congrats!

We market 20Mbps lines as VDSL on our site, but modulation changes can be requested by us to Telkom. In fact, this process could happen automatically and you shouldn't see any drop in connection. :)

If you do encounter any issues, drop one of us a PM with your line details and we'll get the modulation sorted out for you in record time! :)
