Seems OK for me:
875 KB/s - 44.5 MB of 403 MB, 7 mins left

It does bounce around a bit though, HTTP downloads can bounce around a bit. Depends a lot on how their servers are setup.
Anyone else willing to give this file a shot?

Mine's not bouncing around at all. Literally staying around 250kbps

And also the issue of not being able to browse Facebook, twitter, Gmail etc while downloading. This issue if you remember I had before and was sorted out. But has now reared its ugly head again

Not sure if there are underlying issues here.
Can you paste up some test results please?

Okay just did a speed test

Guessing this is why my download speed is going so slow. 6mbps line and only getting around 2mbps on speed test.

As for the browsing while downloading issue. I'll do some traceroutes once my line speed is sorted.

Does look like an overall line issue here.
I saw a lot of drops from the exchange when checking on your earlier query. Should I try a port reset for you quickly?

Afriguy any updates on my Account? You stopped responding on the weekend regarding my issues.

This is what I have to put up with (20Mbps Business account):

I Have to use my phone as a hotspot to get reliable internet currently.

Test account from Web Africa is working perfectly...

I need answers as I can't run a business like this. Emails take forever to send and receive and loggin in to internet banking is near impossible.

Sorry about that dude :(
Can you let me know what DNS servers you're currently utilising?

Very strange seeing such low throughput on your account here.

Im using Google DNS (8.8.8.8). Any other ones I should try?

Try setup auto-assigned DNS.
Also, are you using your @afrihost.co.za or @afrigreen username? Just want to cover all the bases and make sure nothing funky is happening from our end.

I also see you've got a 1GB free account. Could you connect that up to see if the throughput differs at all?

Funny you mention that... I noticed that my afrihost.co.za username has lower latency, and seems much more snappy than my Afrigreen username.

AH
CPT - 8ms
JHB - 24ms

AG
CPT - 12ms
JHB - 34ms

....very weird hehehe

I have a feeling that @afrigreen likes to route through JHB, regardless of location...

Could be wrong though.

I have been switching between the two the last month or so.

been on afrihost.co.za username for last few days. just switched to afrigreen again and now throughput looks ok. (13.5mbps down /0.5 up
