Would it lead to a total loss of service for an entire city?

I'm with Axxess and had issues at the same time, tried trial account with Crystalweb and that also wasn't working...safe to say Telkom is to blame for this one

My Vox and Web Africa accounts worked at the same time the Afrihost was down.

In a SA Dota game where people where basically all using ADSL and the only people that went down were Afrihost people. So disagree Telkom is to blame.

Getting very stable performance, while downloading the Windows 10 update tool and browsing the forum, on my 10Mbps line. :)

My connection starting slowing at about 2:50 pm, then dropped about 15 minutes ago. Now I have a 169 range IP address, but weirdly enough can browse the web. Afrihost, you need to fix these issues. The new network seems to be just as plagued with problems as the old one.

My IP start with 169 too. Don't think it is an error though. :)

Had my line upgraded yesterday, received a text today saying that the change has been completed.
Now a 10Mbps, I expected more.

Make sure that your router is syncing at 10Mbps and not 8Mbps.

Looks like the 169.x.x.x range is assigned to Afrihost. Thought that whole range was a private IP range. But, according to Wikipedia, only the addresses in the 169.254.1.0 to 169.254.254.255 range are private: "If a host on an IEEE 802 (ethernet) network cannot obtain a network address via DHCP, an address from 169.254.1.0 to 169.254.254.255 may be assigned pseudorandomly".

Either way, my download speeds (via UseNet) have slowed to 0 KB/s :( Thought they have enough capacity to handle to the load, but apparently not ...

Where're you based? :)

Pulled this off my router, any way to change this? :)
I had a similar problem when I upgraded to my 10Mbps line.
Make sure that you use ADSL2+ and not G.dmt which will limit your connection to 8Mbps.

I have to login to my router and set it under Network and DSL settings. It will probably be different depending on the type of router you use.
