I need some advice please. With all the new streaming services becoming available, my 4Mb line is no longer sufficient. The problem is that finances are tight and I cannot really afford to pay more for internet access.

Currently my 4 Mb ADSL line is with Telkom at R299/month and I have 4 Mb Premium uncapped from Afrihost at R397/month, for a total of R696/month. I see that Afrihost is offering a 8Mb/s Premium Uncapped Bundle for R697/month. If I move my line to Afrihost and get the 8Mb bundle I will therefore pay R1 more for twice the speed.

My question is: how do I go about to do this upgrade with the least amount of hassles? I suspect that I must first request Afrihost to take over my line from Telkom. Should I then upgrade the line and data separately, and then bundle them, or bundle first and then upgrade? Or can I upgrade in one step from 4Mb data only to 8Mb bundle once the line is transferred? I tried to find some info on the website without success, and the clientzone does not give me bundle options (I suspect this is because my line is not with Afrihost).

Something is a bit odd with International Latency at the moment - Just came out of a League of Legends game with 295ms ping to EUW - Usual is about 200ms constant (played it on Afrihost's network only for 3 months now)

Did a Trace Route to bbc.co.uk and some odd things happening:

Hi!

The first step will be to let Telkom know that you plan on moving your DSL line to Afrihost, they will then place your DSL line into the Wholesale Holding Pool to allow us to transfer the line.

For the moment I would recommend signing up for a package with us using your current line speed, then once the actual transfer is completed you can upgrade from the ClientZone and our system will take care of the rest.

Looks like the line or Exchange is acting up.

I just reset your line and your Capped account, can you restart your modem quickly and see if there is any change.

From what I can see your account is running at close to your line speed at the moment.

The line is definitely up and syncing, but I'm not seeing any authentication requests at the moment.

Would you mind checking your modem to see if it is trying to authenticate.

Hmmmm, the Business Optimization is enabled on the Afrigreen account that you are using. That could be affecting your P2P and HTTPS downloads.
