yeh thats fine. I do have an issue with the newserver though. Last night i had to uninstall and reinstall Sabnzbd. When i entered new.afrihost.co.za and port 119, it asked me for username and password. i know this cant be right, as i didnt need to enter a username and/or password.

I did have a 2nd newserver setup via sabnzbd, which required a username and pasword. would this be the reason for this issue?

you entering news.afrihost.co.za or new.afrihost.co.za

Just wanted to say that I am really impressed with Afrihost 20mbps premium uncapped. Streaming 4k flawlessly from YouTube. I thought 25mbps was the minimum for 4k even with YouTube compression? Maybe they factored in 60fps or something but I have been streaming 4k for many months now at 30fps and it works really well. Maybe it is H265 rather than H264? Here is YouTube stats: http://s7.postimg.org/ihdutpjjf/Capture.png

Thanks to some mystery data, I was able to test YouTube streaming and some podcasts using my Apple TV 4, no issues so far, pretty stable. I'll run some traceroutes comparing my telkom account later.

Awesome to hear you're digging it!!
I think 60fps does have higher bandwidth requirements.

How are those MKBHD videos in full 4K?

No worries, enjoy the extra data :D
Glad you got some good tests with it!

I really do not know how it streams in full 4k but I have tested with Linus Tech Tips videos as well for some of their hour and a half or so long videos without buffering at all. Now I need a 4k monitor. :o The actual stream is in 4k and looks awesome on a rMBP. The rMBP is still not full 4k though...

Oh man! That must be amazing! :)

Hopefully the price of 4K screens starts to drop soon.

Thank you Afrihost,

Everything is still running perfectly. :)

How does this Afrihost Plus stuff work?

If I order a 300GB Capped account and 4x500MB Mobile accounts, do I get 600GB and 4x1GB or does it only apply to one product?

Hi! :)

Plus+ has multiple benefits, such as Double Data, 2-for-1 Top-ups and a Soft-Cap for a Capped account. Each of those benefits can only be applied to a single product, but you can have each benefit linked to a different product.

So just to clarify if I order 1x300GB Capped account, 4x500MB Mobile accounts and Afrihost Plus, what do I get?

You will be able to add Double Data to one of those, add 2-for-1 topups on one account and add a soft-cap on one Capped ADSL account. Additional you will receive 500MB of Mobile Data that you can add to an existing Mobile Data package, or you can add it to a new sim card.

You will also receive a Simfy subscription.
