10MB Business account, I cannot work with a connection like this!

I can't even log onto my client zone to log a support issue, this is poor!

We're definitively not seeing any general DSL issues tonight. Please drop me a PM with your account details and I'll take a look.

Hey AfriFella,

Since 2016-03-31 13:30, so it's amost a week down with no internet and work done, and no results from Afrihost or Telkom..

Really sorry about this, Quad! :(

Telkom have informed us of a very high workload in your area. We'll continue to push the matter from our side. Sorry about the inconvenience.

The disconnecting has returned, like clockwork.

Come on guys. There must be something you can do. I haven't had a single disconnect on my backup ISPAfrika account.

Edit: 3 disconnects in the last few minutes.

2nd edit: Okay wtf:

Those are done on a 100Mbps fibre connection. Going to switch to another ISP quick to see if things go back to normal.

3rd edit: This test was run while the whole family had resumed their streaming and gaming:

Afrihost, something is seriously wrong with your network here. My 10GB ISPAfrika backup account is used up and I'm currently running a free 2GB Web Africa account. If I have to buy a prepaid account when this one is used up I won't be happy.

Was told last night to set my router to automatically use the isp dns servers (never had to do this before), changed my account from Afrigreen back to Afrihost.co.za, and things seemed to work, now this morning with the same settings, I get this. 2 days is a row and Afrihost cannot fix my issue or admit there is an issue.

I have switched off the router, makes no difference, router stats show its connecting at the correct speed.

My line is bad during the evenings, that i know. But, something must be going on with AH because i ran 1 Torrent that was going at 3kbps

I also opened a pdf file, that took a couple minutes to open up :o

Same issue but my line is fine, and no one wants to actually admit there is a problem. Frustrating as I work from home and I cannot keep on having these issues

We'll definitely need to do some troubleshooting here, becuase we shouldn't be seeing general disconnects.

Please drop me PM :(

80% packet loos pop Cape Town I'm in pe

And look at nerotel ping from 69 to 147 ms

Definitely looks poor from the packet loss but it's also important to remember that network kit will drop packets when there is demand on the hardware as it will treat ICMP as low priority.

We'll definitely test more on our side to ensure we're getting the performance we expect.

We should definitely establish whether this is DNS related or account related. Sometimes making too many changes is problematic becuase we don't know which one actually changed your experience. Can we do just a DNS change for now and see how that effects your experience? Please connect with your afrihost.co.za username only for now.

Afri*, I'm being told by a MetroFibre rep that your bandwidth is available on their network. I don't want to dispute it in case it's true, but can you comment on their below statement to me?

"Open Access means that should you, for example, use Afrihost as your ISP, you contact Afrihost and tell them that you want to be on our fibre. Afrihost then contacts us. We then charge Afrihost an open access line rental fee. This contract is between us and Afrihost. You and Afrihost sign a contract of your choice."

Has anyone on the MFN actually done this? Could they?

Well I made the changes as per Afrihost's instructions. I have always used OpenDNS, and if I let the router get the dns from the ISP its still the same, although now it seems to be a bit better, but this serious drop is speed indicates that there is an issue. I did call Telkom to test my line, but because I pay Afrihost for this, this should have been done from your side,.

Tried using the trouble shooter in client zone, says I have to sue the legacy version as the new version is not available yet, but when I run the legacy version the line that its testing is not my line?

For the moment Afrihost cannot take over the Fibre line rental.

You should however be able to use any of our Capped and Uncapped products on your Fibre line.

Mobile data finicky again today...its been hit n miss for a few hours now...mtn data fine...
