My Afrihost account is totally dead atm. Tried changing to Google DNS. Currently on prepaid backup account. I really can't take the constant issues anymore.

Also had 129.232.196.39 as DNS and experienced name resolution failure

Set to Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and so much better

Not impressed so far with Afrihost

Axxess prepaid account

Shows up as 169.0.215.57 - Afrihost ???

But the speed is what it should be

2 days in with Afrihost and I remember why i left previously , advice from them is to change DNS to static because that is how their network works ?

waiting on feedback for the speed difference
but hey the network status light is green on the client panel and thats all that matters

Axxess is Afrihost

Axxess is Afrihost

As in same company or as in buying using their network / data

Been on my Axxess prepaid for 8 days , using the up the data on what is my spare account really. Not a single problem , not even a whisper of a problem

2nd Day on Afrihost , DNS name resolution and speed problems, frustrating when building a WSUS server , what should just be done after a couple of clicks, is now only starting to download updates

either its just luck of the draw or ....

Same upstream provider, different entity, but owned by Afrihost. They manage their network differently, but YMMV

Why are you getting those DNS servers assigned?

Do an nslookup with them and see if they even resolve anything.

This is usually how the s*** starts with AfriHost. People seeing strange occurrences, inconsistent latency and throughput. AH - you can't afford to go through the same issues as last.

I've had 3 disconnects this afternoon on Afrihost. Doesn't look like things have improved at all.

Edit: 4 disconnects.

2nd edit: 6 disconnects. On prepaid backup account now. Submitting cancellation for AH. Sorry guys. This has gone on too long. No point saving a few hundred bucks compared to CW if I can't use the account for hours every day.

I'm getting both 129.232.169.40 & 169.1.1.1 :wtf: WTF is going on here???

I'm getting the following dns servers

169.1.1.3 & 129.232.196.39

Throughput keeps dropping to a point of where I have to reset my router then all is back to normal for a while.

Touch wood, I'm not experiencing any issues with my Afrihost account. DNS is showing as normal. I haven't rebooted my router though.

Hetzner, why you hackin' my router?

Looks like we're working on redundancy for our DNS. I can't go into all the details, but please don't be surprised if you see new addresses popping up here and there.

I definitely have no missed calls from a random unidentified number. I replied to the ticket on the Clientzone though. Hopefully something comes of it.

We definitely need to look into this for you, looking at your other posts as well.

Please PM me and I'll get someone onto this ASAP :(
