Can someone have 2 Afrihost mobile data sim cards on his one account, and what happens if then adding Afrihost plus?
The situation is basically husband and wife looking for a internet solution, a ADSL account for home but then the 2 of them also want a USB modem with mobile data for when they are on the go.

You can have any number of SIMs on your ClientZone profile. You can also have multiple products linked to Afrihost Plus, but you can only assign a benefit to a single product at a time. So you could have double data on one and 2 for 1 Topups on another. If you want to reassign benefits, that can happen at the end of the month.

In this scenario, they may want at least Plus profiles to maximise benefits but they could get creative with one.

My Afrihost account is totally dead atm. Tried changing to Google DNS. Currently on prepaid backup account. I really can't take the constant issues anymore.

Please PM me when you can. Definitely want to get to the bottom of this :(

Also had 129.232.196.39 as DNS and experienced name resolution failure

Set to Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and so much better

Not impressed so far with Afrihost

Definitely huge disparity in the results here. I see later on you posted a good Axxess result but it's possible that refreshing your account when you change accounts (and resetting your DSL port and modem) might also play a factor in improving your connection.

Can we troubleshoot more around this and do some investigation? Please OM so I can get the process started :(

I'm getting both 129.232.169.40 & 169.1.1.1 :wtf: WTF is going on here???

Check my reply, this shouldn't be anything concerning unless you are seeing a performance issue as a result of seeing a different DNS address.

If you are seeing this, please post the results or drop me a PM ASAP.

i streamed the Barcelona game last night, without any issues.. yaay, apart from the result  :D No buffering on Netflix or Youtube either last night..

This is usually how the s*** starts with AfriHost. People seeing strange occurrences, inconsistent latency and throughput. AH - you can't afford to go through the same issues as last.

We're definitely not there yet, and I think we'd be pretty stupid not to have learnt from our mistakes in the past.

We're happy to troubleshoot with any clients getting poor performance and get them them the best possible performance our network can provide.

I'm getting the following dns servers

169.1.1.3 & 129.232.196.39

Throughput keeps dropping to a point of where I have to reset my router then all is back to normal for a while.

Does throughput only drop when you get one or the other of the two DNS addresses?

500 goals for Messi though. You reckon he'll move onto greener pastures?
Don't think he will. Think 1 or 2 more seasons, and he might go home to Argentina to end his career there. 500 goals is a great achievement though

Hi, except for the DNS timeout errors I had the past weekend and a little packet loss at the moment everything seems to be fine now. My Netflix streaming quality took a knock as well, don't if its a direct result of the DNS issues. I have however asked Unotelly if there was any issues and they said all is well on their side.. I'm currently running on your DNS as you can see, but mostly I use Unotelly's smartDNS ip address and I get the same result, so its definitely not unotelly related. The 3rd hop on my WINMTR test in the screenshot ,has had packet loss since last week, I'm thinking this could be the reason for my poor streaming quality?, Could you please check for me if there any issues on that link?
