well I have given you all you needed, and I stated in a later post that the speed increased at about 22:00, and at 22:30 I was at full speed. So I have done everything except for the Usenet which I don't know how to do.
Thanks.

Sorry to hear this.
I do know that MS released some big-ish updates last night, so could be some throughput strain from their end?
I disagree. This is not isolated to MIcrosoft Updates, nor is this a problem which started 24 hours ago. There must be something wrong on Afrihost side.
We haven't been able to trend any info from the posts last night I'm afraid.
Are there any detailed tests I'm able to look at on where you're experiencing issues?
Don't you guys use state of the art monitoring equipment? Holy smokes, what sort of detailed tests can I run for you on the end point?
Not seeing any problems from our end that can cause this, to nail and potential issue down we'll need to run some consolidated tests.
If you are seeing any issues, please complete the following tests and report back with:
Account type
Times tested
Protocols tested
Slow protocols
Working protocols
Line speed on:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/14.04.4/...o.torrent?_ga=1.22234041.322184074.1456161812

ftp://ftp.saix.net/pub/linux/distri...releases/15.10/ubuntu-15.10-desktop-amd64.iso
Speedtest from Ookla to your nearest local server.
We have multiple systems, but no monitoring system will be able to tell if some clients are seeing issues.
As an example, monitors can see if there are cable breaks somewhere, what protocols are being used on the network, overall throughput, throughput per region and peering status.
So let's say Akamai is seeing latency/ packet loss - we can pick this up to an extent.
What we can't pick up, is an individual/ small group of clients seeing throughput issues on torrents - or any other service for that matter.
Please run the below pasted tests:
150GB capped @ 10Mbps.
HTTP:
14.04 @ 1MB/s
15.10 @ 900kB/s
p2p:
Downloads start immediately, only stuck on connecting to peers for a second. @1MB/s.
Would you mind providing a magnet link version to test with.
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:1619ecc9373c3639f4ee3e261638f29b33a6cbd6&dn=Ubuntu+14.10+i386+%28Desktop+ISO%29&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fopen.demonii.com%3A1337&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3A6969&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fexodus.desync.com%3A6969
Results seem good for you, are you experiencing any issues?
Maybe try this magnet?
Code:magnet:?xt=urn:btih:1619ecc9373c3639f4ee3e261638f29b33a6cbd6&dn=Ubuntu+14.10+i386+%28Desktop+ISO%29&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fopen.demonii.com%3A1337&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.coppersurfer.tk%3A6969&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fexodus.desync.com%3A6969
Okay, I did this. I deleted all my queued torrents and got them again, redownloading the meta-data. Everything is working perfectly again, don't get it. Same source and everything. I still have the one torrent that was stuck earlier, going to see if it's the same thing with it.
(Full speed for the ones I got again)
EDIT: And the last one checked, it works perfectly full speed as well.
Not sure what was wrong, maybe the metadata was messed up? Could maybe be that piratebay went down for a bit.
Does sound pretty odd.
Was torrents the only service you saw that was slow?

EDIT2: That magnet links works perfectly as well. Really not sure what was broken.
Test again after 19:00 tonight and see if the speed tanks
Don't know if this is true for everyone, but I found that if you limit the upload speed of torrents then it will have a direct impact on the speed you can achieve with downloading torrents. My torrents seems to download faster when there is no upload speed limit, but once i limit it, then the download is also slower. Anyone else in the same boat?

AG can you reset my account In terms of my usage? I'm not liking the current system, as its confusing. I've used 466GB's from a total of 600GB's, at 80% usage. Would like to see it somehow reset each month to eg 0GB's used of 200GB's
Then if it reaches say 50GB's, it will show 25% usage.
Will drop you a pm soon. On way home quickI'm really not sure I follow here?
Unfortunately I won't be able to change the way our usage is displayed/ counted.
Drop me a PM with a bit more detail and I'll see if I can clear things up for you.
I have provided most of the information already.
The problem we experience has nothing to do with our end equipment on site or the line. I can assure you that others have the same issue. This is not isolated. I have checked our line today with Telkom's specialist transmission team and it is in an exceptionally good condition.
This line is reliable and all parameters are well within spec. You however seem to miss the following - over the past period of less than a month we have noticed these slow download issues with international sites. It is intermittent. However the frequency at which these problems occur is on the up. There is no doubt about this.
When I experience these issues, I use another ISP account and the downloads run at max speed. Our Afrihost Capped account connection is currently running normally. Earlier today it was not. Updates trickled down at a snail's pace.
The fact that others on this forum also complain about sporadic slow downs and the fact that another ISP account works 100% is proof that there is an Afrihost issue somewhere with international traffic.
The new Aftihost network has been really stable and reliable prior to this. I sincerely hope this is not an indication of things to come.
