Now a business account is supposed to totally unshapped? But according to your support people this is their latest response to my P2P issues:

Our aim is to provide the best user experience and this means peer-to-peer services will get less priority depending on users, as well as network usage.

Now which is true?

Would someone from Afrihost response to this?

Huh... that's pretty confusing.
Can you share a link on which speedtest gives you what results? Interested in testing this out myself :)

What's do your real world downloads look like?

Not bad, so your traceroutes just timeout from the 2nd hop onwards?

Business accounts are unshaped, I guess they're referring to contention and how the contention gets handled on the network.
No ISP will set a designated amount of bandwidth for services like P2P - so if other protocols become more demanding, your torrents may see contention and in turn, be slow down.

This is not shaping though.

Ummm.... no. That is a form of shaping.

Maybe in the bigger sense of the word.
On our network, shaping is setup for Premium Uncapped accounts. Seeing contention on non-critical services in no way relates to shaping - it's not something we're actively controlling.

Its shaping, under a different name, but this is still not solving my problem and contacting support has done nothing to resolve anything

Are you employed as the support manager, or in a senior role in support?

So you are applying layer 7 traffic management to p2p?

Ergo, shaping...
