I can't quite remember, think it was just under or just over 3 km, will check again later.

I'm about 3.2km, just barely getting 4mb. If the copper quality is still good in your area, you should be able to run 6mb no problems, 8mb would probably cause stability issues if there is exchange congestion, or if you have ASSIA running on your line

I did try, sync on my router shows lower, but I'm still only getting 4 MB actual download speeds.

You should wait a while when changing from ADSL G.dmt, the line has to adjust to the frequency. It should stabilize after a while or you could turn the router off for about 30 min which is as good as a port reset.

Doesn't this happen while the router is handshaking/connecting?

Will try later today or tonight, have to work now.

A lot of people are complaining about VDSL, its not very stable. I would upgrade to 10mb and wait till fiber comes to my area, but that's just me :D.

I'm wondering if anyone can comment.

My area supports 20mb, will my line allow it? I have good atten stats but not snr, also have as few errors:

Always tough going by the stats, it's borderline at best though.
All up to if your DP can support it - PM me your line number and I can check for feasibility :)

Charl said my area has 20mb. I'm just wondering if my snr is high enough.

The area may support 20Mbps, even 40Mbps, but if your DP doesn't then your line won't be able to.
PM me and I'll run a feasibility check on the upgrade either way :)

I gave him my phone number, my exchange is only ADSL2+ and not VDSL, therefore only 20mb.

My line isn't with you, just asking other forumites whether the stats will allow it or am I wasting my time.

Judging from the fact I'm getting a few errors (not that I notice any issues) now already on the 12mb profile, I'm sure 20mb will be risky.
