Upgrading, downgrading, cancelling or re-activation of your account is not allowed on or after the 25th of each month. This is due to billing already processed among other reasons.

Please note you will only be able to cancel your account after the 1st.

Also note you will get a refund you will need to take it up with our accounts department.

Well, I guess I'll just go to ABSA then and reverse the charges there.... AfriHost is bloody useless :mad::mad:
 
ROFL, that's not new. It's been policy as long as Afrihost have offered adsl afaik.
 
Gian said all cancellations would be credited for April. See above post.

Having said that I"m still waiting for a repsonse from my PM I sent him (And the call I logged!)
 
savage - I don't think Gian is the type who's going to lie to the lot of us - he did say it'd take a week or so.

Afrihost support probably use scripts - haven't you noticed all of their response to everyone are just about exactly the same copy and paste?

I bet I can actually write a AI program that can automatically do their responses with a 99% accuracy based on incoming email keywords.

Give it a week - I think you have 14-days to take it up with the bank - and the 1st is only tomorrow - so you can only cancel the actual account tomorrow.

Gian explained that they first have to check which payments bounce, else they might be refunding people who haven't even paid (which is exactly what it'll look like if the bank returns your payment).

Dude, the refund thing is only for MyBB members, and only after sending an email to [email protected] with a specific subject line and your username. How are they supposed to know just off the cuff that you are savage from MyBB? Follow the protocols that Gian laid down and you will get what you want. Otherwise please stop throwing your toys out the cot.
 
I'm not going to post my response to this storm in a teacup by Savage in more than one place. I stated my opinion on the Q&A thread where he threw his toys too....

So you expect your ISP to know exactly which members are MyBB users and what their username is? Good luck in your search for a new ISP!
 
Oh for crying out loud, what a bunch of babies, it's not even freaking April yet and you're complaining about not getting the refund? Are you people living on maxed out credit cards and salty cracks that you can't wait a week or two for the refunds to be processed? Its like R500 we're talking about here...geepers, i don't think Afrihost makes alot of interest on your cash...
 
so afrihost is not giving the same opportunity to non mybb users who are dissatisfied with their change in T&Cs that they have not communicated to users?

more and more i have to say that i am not happy with the way afrihost conducts business if this is their modus operandi.
