Afrihost POC Network - Afrigreen Feedback

Wow, maybe they should fix the old network cause this POC sucks.

I have a 10 MB business uncapped account and a 4 MB business uncapped account.

I cant do anything.

- Cant browse the internet, find myself constantly refreshing the page for it to load.
- Constant DNS timeouts.
- Random disconnects.
- Cant stream any media
- Cant do any online gaming. (800ms to local Dota server)

I am paying for a "premium" service but getting mediocre performance.
There is no packet loss when i pay you at the end of every month.

This is what i was told when i asked for a refund:


Please be advised that we will be unable to refund you on either of your data connectivity plans. The reason is that you have shifted (large) amounts of data, which would be impossible with capacity issues.

WTF has that got to do with anything??? the fact of the matter is i PAY for a premium service and im not getting it.

Time to chat with someone regarding consumer law.
 
Totally agree. The message is that this POC and feedback is not so important and that there is no urgency. Astonishing.
Exactly 7 days to the 25th.


As it currently stands, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHATSOEVER TO USE AFRIHOST. 'Normal' uncapped accounts, capped accounts, POC, anything. It's all screwed. And none of them are saying anything.


I say we start a new thread: "Countdown to jump Afrihost ship"

We start the countdown at 6 Days and count it down every day from now til then. If they don't fix their stuff by then: MASS CANCELLATIONS. Everybody, and I mean, everybody, cancel their accounts.

That should get their attention. :)

We're working with Telkom to investigate some problems on the AfriGreen IPC. This could involve some downtime, while Telkom looks into the IPC hardware performance.

We hope to keep this to an absolute minimum and affect as few users as possible.

Will post an update as soon as I can. If you do have an alternate account, please keep it handy if Telkom do need to take things offline :(

Why is it that Afrihost is permanently apologizing for issues they don't understand and that needs looking into ...

Yeah, Telkom's at it again :rolleyes:

MTN is the reason why your clients are having crappy speeds. Just admit that pleasing both your clients and your MTN bosses are harder than you originally thought.
 
I missed an important webinar because of this horrific internet service.
 
I moved from MWEB because i heard they were awesome. Funny thing is i didn't have any problems with MWEB.....

Should never have moved in the first place.

How do all the other ISP's do it??? Afrihost don't seem to have a clue...
 
4 Meg uncapped.

So far, download speeds have improved (less throttling) and browsing is reasonable. YouTube seems a bit slower. Gaming is still not as good as Telkom (high pings). The worst bit so far is internet keeps cutting off altogether for short periods (with Telkom still working).
