Not even 6 PM and http downloads have slowed to a crawl 20KB/s on a 10meg link.
Fortunately I am on my way out for the evening so I don't care how long it takes, but it is a bad omen for the rest of the weekend.

Yes... My AfriGreen has also now slowed down horribly... using VOX now, will try it again later.

Hope it is a glitch and not a weekend omen!

Download speeds have dropped since this afternoon.

Afternoon was averaging 700-800kbps, right now 300-400kbps.

Seems like the common trend is downloads here - are other services OK?

Is it due to limited IPC in Cape Town that there is a difference in download speeds?

Cape Town:
Download Speed: 6382 kbps (797.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 843 kbps (105.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 78 ms
Jitter: 2 ms
‎2015‎-‎08‎-‎14‎ ‎18‎:10‎:‎16

Johannesburg:
Download Speed: 8622 kbps (1077.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 881 kbps (110.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 45 ms
Jitter: 1 ms
‎2015‎-‎08‎-‎14‎ ‎18‎:‎11‎:‎15

Everything still fantastic for me. My internet has never been better.

It could be, throughput shouldn't differ too much though.

Gone back to being unable to browse if I'm downloading.

Downloading a video from youtube and can't browse. Soon as I pause the download, browsing working again.

Trying to stream football game and struggling with that too.

Hoping we're not in for another bad internet weekend like last weekend.

Guess its common for us Cape Town boys to suffer this time of night... YouTube degrading to its lowest setting AND buffering, Steam downloads/patches/updates running at half line speed and torrent speeds also fluctuating towards lower speeds... aaaargh! Both accounts

*edit* not all simultaneously, tested 20mins each

Woah, seems like something else is going on here.
Is there a traceroute you can post here?

Too late for the traceroute as all is running better this morning. Next time I'll remember to run traceroute at same time as positing results.

Just upgraded to a 4mb line even though I am about 5km from my exchange, here is a traceroute and speedtest.
All running smooth, streaming and downloading.

Speeds today fluctuating.

Download speeds averaging 300-400kbps mostly.

Browsing at times struggling. Getting err_connection error having to refresh for page to load sometimes a few times.

Youtube streaming seems fine.

Trying to stream football. Horrible. Sites don't even load now continuously getting ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Facebook, twitter all having some browsing issues where takes long to load or images don't load.

Every time on weekend, same issues.

Incredibly frustrating.

Edit* Phoned in to Afrihost. Lady says that there's congestion at the exchange.

Though switching to my normal afrihost business account seems to work better.
