No lag gaming today + voice chat 3 people and streaming a youtube vid.

Really happy with the performance today.

Now the question on my mind... hoe f*kken lank nog AH?

I think it is time to start looking for a new ISP. Giving all and getting nothing back feels like being shafted... The Cell C advert comes to mind....
You know, this one:

:(

Wow... Okay... We've really made great strides with AfriGreen, and I don't think the wait will be that much longer. We're definitely going to be doing our best to ensure AfriGreen remains as stable and awesome as possible.

Thanks, because really... Its been dragging on for a long time now. And again, we the guys on uncapped are... Being shagged. And hard. So please, getting tough not to get pissed off big time.

The Team thinks they've resolved the issue, can you please test your connection again.

Everything's hunky dory!

Why does pinging bras.afrihost.com timeout?

Well now mine is down the tubes.
It was fine earlier but now I am only getting 28KBs when I try and stream.

EDIT:
Switched servers and it is up to 300KBs, must have been a congested server/route.

I think that any problems I was having before were due to my line. I checked the router stats and I had a TONNE of HEC errors under upload. I increased the SNR using ssh and it seems fine now.:)

Something Went Wrong AfriGreen

Everything was working fine, now its balls up!!

Even mybroadband isn't routing locally ??

AfriGreen only worked properly for about a week, all down hill from there.
I am guessing Afrihost are using the same horrific bandwidth management system on AfriGreen as they do on AfriRed (MTN). The mind boggles. I can not fathom how testing can take almost 2 months and the bucket is still full of holes. AfriGreen is a utter waste of time, I will not be switching back to it.

I Agree, was working really wonderfully now they did changes and screwed it up again

Well I have no real issues with AfriGreen, I have used it all month now, first month in 8 that I have not needed to resort to an alternative ISP to get anything done.

But I still won't commit until I know how it handles under stress, i.e. when they start switching users over, and they have IPC in the Cape. The biggest issues I have had with Afrihost were all down to Lack of Capacity in Cape Town in the evenings.

IF they match the current leader but don't have roll-over on the cap, they lose anyway, I am now used to not having to discard bandwidth most months but buy top up in others.

Thanks for the update! Please let me know if there is any change!

Well well. Egg on my face. I trusted Afrihost. FFS why did I even think that AH can be trusted to get one critical download done last night to get my phone working again.
The network is screwed again! I could not get the downgrade of my phone because AH is a fuced up network that can't keep a connection for more than two hours.
Speed now: 30 kb/s

So yeah, you are screwing us again and again and again!
