Was there a comms that went out regarding the migration? (not the one from Gian talking about migrating)

Afrigreen accounts are running at Line speed and not account speed please fix.

Causing havoc with PPPoE dial in accounts.

We should see AfriGreen users moved over the to the full production network. Prep has been underway since yesterday and the new network is now live and ready to accept users. We should be seeing a different performance from AfriGreen accounts within the next few hours :)

Uh what does this mean? We're being moved over to the improved Afrihost network? Must we sign in with our old accounts again in a few hours?

We plan to send out a warning by SMS and Email if all goes according to plan. Just remember that we're in the prep stage getting ready to move. Nothing has moved yet :)

No, you won't have to do anything from your side. We're going to migrate AfriGreen users first, so don't change your username as the regular afrihost.co.za usernames are going to be on the old network.

Can you explain a bit more here?

I haz a 1Meg account with AH/AG and a 2 meg line.

Yesterday the green account was capped at 1 meg speeds. Now its unlimited therefore using 2meg speeds then when i want to use another account on another PC its being contended with the AG account.

We are busy making changes in preparation for the network migrations. This may be the case for a short while until we finalise. Sorry about that. If you run into any problems, drop me a PM and let's see what we can work out to mitigate this :(

Once migrations are complete, are we to still connect with @afrigreen account, or @afrihost.co.za?

Stay on the afriGreen account for now. That way you'll stay on the new network until the rest of the users join. We own both realms, so you will probably have plenty of time to switch back to your regular account.

Hey Guys

I think I want to just post an update on the migration of the networks and to maybe give a little more insight from the network and user perspective.

Last night at about 22h30 the process was started in terms of migrating the networks over the in preparation of moving users over to the network as well. This is not really flicking of a switch, it's a lengthy process that involves several stages and key milestones in between.

The process of moving users over to the full production has begun for POC testers. There are some users already seeing some improvement, and we are already using some of the new local IPC in the various regions, but please bear in mind that the process in not fully complete (in terms of the AfriGreen users). Once this is fully complete, AfriGreen users will be experiencing the new network as intended, and will be the very first to do so.

Once this is complete and testing and quality assurance has been performed, we will look to the next task of moving the entire network over, which be a much more complex process, but we're doing our absolute best to make that happen as quickly as possible to give all our clients the benefit of the awesome new network.

If there is any confusion, please ask here in the thread, we're happy to clear up any confusion for the benefit of all the AfriGreen users who are eagerly waiting to test the new network experience :)
