Afrihost POC Network - Afrigreen Feedback

A quick question about ping. I notice on WebAfrica I get 180ms in Armoured Warfare and 197ms on Afrigreen. When the East IPC (I'm in Durban) comes up can I expect the ping to be around WebAfrica's?

Ping will be a bit higher on Afrigreen for now as you're routing via JHB. That's something that'll be fixed in production with the roll out of three points of presence, namely:

North
South
East

What's 17ms between friends? :p

Changed over to Afrigreen as the normal network was dead from this morning.

Anything over 15ms ruins friendships :p

Sorry about the issues over on our regular network, teams are working on a fix :(

@AfriGuy, what percentage of Afrihost customers are currently using Afrigreen? Performance is great, and I'm hoping that it doesn't slow down after everyone moves over later this month.

I don't have the exact numbers available - but with todays IPC issues we've pushed a lot more clients over on Afrigreen and it's handling the demand extremely well.
As of 9 October 2015, we've had over 5000 clients test Afrigreen.

Sorry, if this is a dumb question ...... but have you folk moved all the Afrigreen POC accounts over to the new network?

I merely asking because my internet on the afrigreen account seriously suck today (hitting over 600 ms and that is on the local hops )

PS: Any eta on when I will get a response on the PM?

Heya guys

Just a quick update, and to update newcomers :)
We're working closely with MTN on a resolution - currently seeing degraded traffic across both IPC and Mobile links, countrywide.

Afrigreen is stable and working well, so if you are having troubles with your DSL account you're welcome to PM me your DSL username and I'll generate the details for you.
You'll have to update your DSL details in the router - you should only have to change @afrihost.co.za to @afrigreen

I'll have more updates posted as soon as they're made available.

As per my previous post - I am currently on the @afrigreen network (with a capped account) and ping is appaling :(

As from last night. I'm still getting this error

This webpage is not available

ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

When trying to access Standard Bank website.

Would you be able to paste some results here please?

Unfortunately I am not at home atm, got an email with the pingplotter test from my Home Executive (reflecting ~600ms across all the local hops on the afrigreen network). When I try to post the pic on the forum, it comes out extremely small - not sure it is worth anything).

If latency is still high when I get home tonight, I will post some results.

Can you confirm if my account is still on the afrigreen test network or have I been transferred to the "live" network?

Mainly asking, because if this results is from the "new miracle" network, I am somewhat disappointed tbh.

Definitely not seeing anywhere near that amount of latency - not sure if anyone else can post here confirming this?
What happens when you run a ping to various IPC destinations, via Terminal/ CMD?

I don't have any further info around migrations at this point.
