So not sure if anyone noticed but we launched Pure VOIP yesterday.

It runs on the same network as Axxess Voice so calls between the users will be free.

We support a bunch of popular voice codecs including the HD voice codecs like Opus and G722

We have a very cool feature enabled called sip forking. We allow you to register 6 devices on a single account and if they are all registered when a call comes in all of the devices will ring and you are able to take the call from any of the devices registered. This is a really cool feature if you port your landline number over and want to have it at home but not miss calls when you are out and about you can keep a voip app on the phone open and you can keep receiving calls on the go.

Yes you can. You would need a VOIP phone or a ATA device to use an old analogue phone. You can also use a voip app on your phone.
Cooool, im first waiting for Afrihost to market 40/20 VumaReach plan like Webafrica did before i get the VoIP service

Any plans for a Afrihost VOIP app?

Not yet but that does not mean no forever.

Currently I use GS Wave on my phone and it works well with Voicemail and missed call and voice messages notifications.

I just wish that the call rate to a mobile phone network was cheaper. 80c is not really competitive at all if you look around at other suppliers pricing.

I agree, 80c is a bit high. If it was 70c billed per second I would jump over immediately.

How does that work?
R50.00 per month (airtime expires), no subscription costs.

The monthly fee is loading R50 each month and rolls over for a maximum of 3 months before expiring. There is no rental fee for example like a Analogue line that has a monthly rental fee excluding any usage. Here you get the monthly credit and you use it as you wish in the next 3 months.

But it still "force" the user R50 or so to be paid each month even though it expire every 3 months . No expiration would be great. Also a better call rate....

It's effectively the same thing as a monthly rental fee. You're being forced to buy R50 of airtime whether you want to or not which eventually expires. I would love to move over to your VOIP product, but I only use something like R10 a month of airtime with my current VOIP provider and they don't charge any monthly rental.

Understandable. I will speak to our branding team to see if they can word that better than it currently is.

Hello, we are interested in this service!
Questions:
If you purchase a R100pm service is there a time limit on using it up or does it roll over? If so, for how long?
Does it matter what phone you use?

Hello,

The call time rolls over for 3 months before it will expire.

You can use it only any sip supported device be it a voip phone, voip ata or a voip app on the phone. We support basically all the codecs that are available so no need to buy codecs if it isn't supported in the app. :)

Wideband codec support makes me happy.
