Hello,
The call time rolls over for 3 months before it will expire.
You can use it only any sip supported device be it a voip phone, voip ata or a voip app on the phone. We support basically all the codecs that are available so no need to buy codecs if it isn't supported in the app.![]()
Thanks, we are testing it out with the Zoiper app...
OK, will try those ... my wife did have some difficulties setting up her iPhone, it was asking for extra info that we didn't have for some reason. My android phone was pretty straightforward.Personally I don't like the Zoiper app much I do like GS Wave or Linphone. They work pretty good.![]()

Let me know if there is anything else I can advise on.
Also make sure to check the codec setting to have the correct codecs enabled for the best voice quality.![]()
We've logged a query with the call centre.
We requested a call-back... still waiting. Ticket ID: QVI-529-77815Okay do you have a ticket ID for me so I can check?

Messaged you.I have logged a call back for you.
I can assist you with any settings if you need? What errors or issues are you experiencing setting it up?
Just checking... is the cost the same if my number is called (the minute by minute charges)? Or does it only apply if I make the call.
xx
Makes sense! Thank You.Not sure about your question but if it's related to incoming calls you won't be charged but the person calling you will be charged and they will be charged the standard call rate the network charges for calls to other networks if that makes sense.![]()
Makes sense! Thank You.
Just got off the phone with Telkom to cancel my Fibre service with them (as I am switching to Afrihost) and they told me my landline will also be cancelled? I thought this was strange - anyway - now I am looking to get VOIP from Afrihost as well.
My question is - since Telkom are 'cancelling my line' would Afrihost still be able to 'port my existing 021 number' or would I need a new number to give to my grandma for her to call me? Telkom said cancellation will be effective 15 November....
You should be able to port it while it's still active. I would suggest getting the port started asap to prevent it from getting cancelled.
If the number is not that important to you you can just signup for us and get a new 087 number.![]()
Cool!
I will do that! The courier just delivered my new router? for the new fibre service this morning but Openserve are yet to contact me to assist in the installation and set up etc. - do you suggest I wait for them to contact me and set up the new fibre before ordering the VOIP? Or should I order the VOIP now?
AWESOME - will order the VOIP and phoneset now and get it on the existing 021 number before it cancels in November. You can order the voip now remember that the Voip is separate and won't be linked to your ONT like it used to be with Telkom. They are the only ISP that have that access unfortunately.
You are going to need a voip phone or you can use it on your phone with a voip app.
The fibre will be a separate service from the Voip service.

Thanks for the useful responses
