Afrihost Slow Uncapped

My ADSL line is fine because I'm using a different afrihost acccount (10GB shaped) and I'm getting full speed on that one (3.6mb/s)

Dude I don't mind shaping, but come on, I can't even browse at 20kb/s. It's ridiculous.

UPDATE: I just gave them a call and all the guy could tell me was to wait until 6pm and try again. I assume he's referring to when the account switches to unshaped. Problem being, That just means that tomorrow during the day I will still be limited. I need to use my account during the day damn it! They can't just limit me to 20kb/s, that means I'd have to get another normal account to use during the day time which is completely unnecessary :/

Oh, he also mentioned that they are still in the "trial phase" of the uncapped. BS... why am i getting 20k spot and you're not ?...

I suspect afrihost is allowing to many downloaders access to high kb/s during the day where as mweb restricts us badly. My browsing speeds on mweb are awesome during the day.
 
Can you guys load a 360p youtube vid fast? Mine loads incredibly fast.

I am only asking so i know which is a better service :D>
 
I've also got the 4Meg uncapped from Afrihost, and have not had any problems. Torrents are shaped during the day, but other than get full speed with http downloads, Youtube, etc.

Thats the big question.

I dont have any issues during the day. my one son is busy with torrents, my other one is playing dota, and I have no issues browsing or with Email, and the line is not maxed out yet.
 
Is it atleast unshaped afterhours?

I would imagine MWEB has a bigger "low user" user base which will let the guys who actually want to melt their copper do so where as Afrihost isn't as big and doesnt have as large of a "low user" userbase so everyone is trying to melt their copper at once.

I only use this accout for after-hours surfing and the occasional download of a TV epidose on a 4meg line, and I have found the speed quite acceptable. So can not say anything about day-time using, but for my purposes this is quite good!
 
I've done 92Gb so far this month of which only 62 was on the uncapped. I'm getting around 20kb/s as well now so there's either a problem somewhere or we're being heavily throttled.
 
I think something is broken - everything has come to a grinding stop. Even google picasa keeps trying out when timing to sync my pics.
 
faster line speed,
uncapped service,
adsl line rental included,
no restrictions,
no thresholds,
no limitations,
totally unshaped,
for a cheaper price,
would be great.
