Afrihost spam and broken unsubscribe link

I agree, there is no need to disregard all Afrishost emails, unless of cause you have nothing to do with Afrihost. To the clients those other emails are important, unless they opted NOT to receive promotional emails, then it is only the important emails that are important.

I also now understand that this specific spammy email was supposed to look personalised, unfortunately that doesn't change the fact that it looked 100% like spam, even if this was not the intention. Maybe just give the author of the email a crash course in marketing, you can make something look professional and still personal. Take it or leave it. Do with it whatever you want to.

Lets just say that I have this thing they call Fibre in my area, getting a R4000 discount (after some research) will be really great. But I would never have read that email and would have missed out on, what might have been, a great deal.

Thanks for being really cool about it. I can assure you that we have passed on concerns in all shapes and forms, and we'll continue doing so going forward. Gian understands a lot about marketing, but what he loves more is delighting clients and he's always been a maverick. He wants to get the message out there! :)

If you have any questions about signing up, give me a shout over PM. :)

You've got me on the 'please contact me when fibre arrives', so does almost all the other ISP's.

Hmm... That's probably why you received the mail initially. Happy to keep an eye on it from my side if you PM me your details. :)

Your unsubscribe button doesn't work.

This mail was also sent to an email address that was 100% never used to sign up with Afrihost. Think it's time to blacklist your domain network wide.

I'm so sorry that happened. Please drop me a PM, we'll make sure we don't mail you again :(

More spam. Subject: heads up

Wtf is wrong with you? Stop sending me your sheit

That is a strange one to hear... :/

Please PM me your email address and I'll take a look at what could have happened, as well as remove you from our mailing list.
After Pming you I still got the "heads up" email from Gian today? What's up with that

It takes a lot of k4cke to get me upset, and spam is not one of these. So I have no beef or axe to grind with AH at this stage, just simply curious as to why the system allowed people to get promotional emails when they indicated otherwise.

Definitely sure I unticked promotional mails (or something like that) but will login to my AH CP and check.

Mr Murphy definitely does not play fair!

If you use the Un-subscribe link on the mail itself, do you get a confirmation message or an error message?

We definitely do make sure that the Un-subscribe option is available on the actual mails as well, you will just need to use either the option in the ClientZone or on the mail itself to remove yourself from the list.
