After many happy months of not receiving Gian marketing mails (in all their beauty /s) one popped up in my inbox a short while ago even after being unsubscribed for a long time:

Also when trying to hit the supplied unsubscribe link it doesn't work (likely because I'm not subscribed):

Please stop.

Just unsubscribed earlier as well since I have no more products with them, the link worked fine in the e-mail (the R4000 one).

Now if it actually works, we'll see once Gian sends out another message.

The unsubscribe link should definitely work. Drop me a PM and I'll confirm that you won't be emailed again :(

No, the link definitely doesn't work - I've tried multiple times now and just receive the same error as above.

Still would like to know why I received the mail even after being unsubscribed, was this mail just sent out to all subscribers regardless?

I got one yesterday and the same one again today. I also get the same error as DrJohnZoidberg, can't remember if I clicked unsubscribe yesterday.

They still send these? I've had that gian@afrihost blacklisted on my servers for very, very long.

Glad to know it's still effectively blocking the spam :crylaugh:

Feel free to drop me a PM with your account info and I'll pass it onto our development team. :)

Why do you need his account info, to pass what is CLEARLY a bug, to your developers?

It doesn't look like everyone that was unsubscribed received the mail, so we need the details to determine why those specific individuals did receive the mail.

Some messages have been removed by the mods as they are not really relevant to the support objective of this forum.

As per the mods, the sole aim of the forum is offer support to existing Afrihost clients (for their services) and engage on these topics. If the poster has no intention to engage and find solutions, then the post does not belong in the support forum.

Isn't that the whole POINT of unsubscribing? NOT to get the mail?

See, that's why I rather block the mails on my side, instead of relying on your logic :crylaugh:

We do have moderation rights on the Afrihost Support forum, but we do take great care in implementing these based on our community standards. :) We've got them posted at the top of all of the pinned threads if you'd like to read them.

With that being said, we really don't like deleting posts at all, and in the "few and far between" cases where it does need to happen, we always reach out to the MyBB forum moderators for advice and guidance first. They are the pros here, after all. :)
