We don't see a specific trend in usage that explains the increase. We don't think it correlates to new signups - we track that info very carefully to plan capacity on an ongoing basis.

While we are investigating this pretty seriously, our main focus for now is improving performance as best as possible and plan for a long term solution.

Where's my alleviation? I'm still at 25%. Has anyone actually had their shaping "alleviated" or is this just BS to make us feel like it might actually get better some time?

Just as we shape from the heaviest users down, we also unshaped from the lightest users upwards. I don't know if many users on MyBB forums would be fall into that category but we are shaping less users and to a lesser extent that we have of late.

I've managed a grand total of 4.7 Gb this month and that was only by using all my turbocharges - you mean there is someone who has done less?????
 
AfriGuy/AfriMan does gaming fall under real-time services? E.g. Playing League of Legends or World of Warcraft?

Experiencing less shaping today. Im on 7gig for this month (2mb uncapped). Im on 50/25 up from 25/6.5.

Gaming falls under real time services and actually gets highest priority on the network, along with streaming audio and video :)

There you go, someone who has done more than me but is shaped less than me - makes a bit of a nonsense of your shaping theory really.
