The difference is, if done transparently (in other words, with set thresholds that we KNOW of) it would be okay (provided the thresholds aren't ridiculously low).Isnt this what MWEB did?

Afriman, if you where to decide on throttling, do you think it is a good idea to give the thresholds? could you motivate, I do not mind the PR response?
I don't think that throttling is the right idea, we don't believe in the system itself. We really do think that the shaping processes we have in place at the moment and are working well.
This I can agree with, and I can even stand the abusers (and by that I mean 1TB+ per month), BUT... what about the "distributing abusers" (WISPs)? Because there are a lot of them, and as much as they need to make a living, they're screwing up contention ratios - on Telkom's side as well as on the ISP's side.I don't think that throttling is the right idea, we don't believe in the system itself. I know "uncapped" means that if you WANT to download 1TB+ per month, you can. But since we have a limited infrastructure, I don't think it would be unreasonable to say "okay guys, we're going to throttle you if you go over 600GB". Because then you're imposing a reasonable threshold, and you're telling the end-users what the thresholds are.

The same as you. Using my account.I actually feel like I'm using my account. I wonder how these abusers feel?
What would you like to know?I would also like some insight into the mind of these abusers... Surely they're floating around here.
Some random stranger hates me? Let me go chew off my wrists quick. They won't ever admit it as they know the hatred that exists for them around these parts
I was in 4th place at the beginning of the month on the 10mb uncapped accounts. Dropped down a lot since then.I've often asked if anyone who is on the list is here on the forums. I imagine MyBB represents the more tech savvy internet user, so there must be at least one or two out there.
Much better this evening, anything changed since yesterday?

As I said in another thread, one of my 2tb hard drives failed last month (obviously it would be the one with a 1 year warranty) so I had a lot to download. I pushed my downloads for three weeks but then I had everything I wanted again so I dialed down my downloads. 90% of the time my downloads are finished by 6AM. The only data I use during the day is my torrents which I couldn't get from news servers due to them being too old (The mentalist season 1 which is 25gb and has been going for 1w3d and Family guy season 1-8 which is 24gb and has been downloading for 1w1d ). They are moving along like a snail through syrup at 10kb/s but that is fine with me. In a few days I will be below the threshold again and then they can finish in hours instead of weeks.
