BF4 Is going to be AWESOME! Also hoping it won't impact the network too much.

Afriman my maaaan... Anyway for me to get an approximate date of activation for the dsl on my line? (Orderd the bundle thru you).

Hoping it is in time to download the bf4 multiplayer beta :/

How is this for my luck :/ The day my internet gets working again, my exchange breaks. 3890ms ping to google.co.za

EDIT: Nevermind

It's Telkom. So it could be any time between now and the next 6 months :D
Lately it's been within 2 or 3 weeks on average though.

Yup. Took 11 working days for mine.

Now just patiently waiting for a dslam upgrade...

Getting 1mb or 2mb speeds in primetime sucks lemme tell ya.

Not really, it's really totally in Telkom's hands. Fastest I've seen is about a week or so, but sometimes they provision the line, and then test a bit, and it's a little longer before it's stable enough to use (especially to game on).

Glad it's sorted now. Getting very nervous about upgrades announced. My own exchange is starting to show some odd symptoms and weird latency spikes. Not quite poked yet - but showing the signs :(

It's usually not more than 30 days. Sadly, there is the occassional case which takes longer, usually because of exceptional circumstances :(

Yoh that does not sound too promising :( let's hope for the best! I hate Telkom :(

Very unusual to see the demand we're seeing on a Sunday evening. Hopefully it's not going to last much longer :(

I'm on 75%. It's fine, but Youtube is taking a vicious knock (95KB/s on a 2Mb).

[-]Edit: TurboCharge to the rescue!![/-] :^) Not making a difference to YouTube.

Netflix and Hulu or any streaming is unwatchable. I have a baby and for the past few nights when we finally get some time to sit back and relax and watch anything - it buffers constantly and we can only watch 5 seconds at a time.

Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the network to apply a change. Maybe reboot your router to kickstart the new settings :)

Wondering if I "accidently" run over my dslam...hypothetically of course...would that speed up the upgrade process :D

Please note that this upgrade process may take longer than other methods of upgrading. Zertop and Zertop Inc. does not support this upgrade process and do not offer refunds for angry neighbours who may or may not damage your property.

I would be PI$$$$ED if I were one of those exceptionally lucky ones, in fact, I would be pissed if it took 30 days! Like I said in a different thread, the fact that a product orderd from another country will be at my place quicker than a product orderd from a local telecommunications company is shocking. This can't be right and is totally inacceptable. Nothing we can do about it for now though.

Hell, even 11 working days would piss me off...

Let's see what happens.

Shocking that Telkom does nothing to improve this even with everyone publicly hating them.

I have a baby and for the past few nights when we finally get some time to sit back and relax and watch anything - it buffers constantly and we can only watch 5 seconds at a time. As you can imagine I am highly bleak about this (I am trying very hard not to use language that would offend anyone). I propose that you sort out your issues that have plagued your network for the last couple weeks it seems before that everything was hunky-dory. Thank you.

I'm not sure what issues you've experienced over the last weeks. We've only had general network issues over Thursday and Friday, and everything has been pretty much back to normal since then. As far as I can tell from my own tests, streaming is working perfectly. If you're using Netflix, can only assume you're also using external DNS - sometimes they can be the cause of slow speeds.

For me, using our DNS, getting perfect service on YouTube. have you also tried switching to a capped or Free GB account to test?

I wouldn't risk it :)

Telkom's standard response for upgrades is 6 weeks to 12 months. Wouldn't risk being on the wrong side of that timeline :(
