Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

Critical care do generally work office hours, but a lot of the time they also work late and after hours and on several occassions even go out to clients to help them. They are a very dedicated team, and their first focus is our client's happiness.

To be fair to them, you line has been down for a while, so there was no way for the them to test and make any progress on this query without your assistance and feedback. Our own tests from the office and from home show no issues from our side.

The line was down, but there was very little progress before this. The odd thing was when Critical Care gave me a test SAIX account, I had no issues with videos on the Supersport site, so this points to a issue with your network and the Supersport site?

I don't have all the feedback on this, that's why it's best to chat directly to them and get their comment. They usually give their direct email addresses for feedback and queries, but you're also welcome to copy me in on [email protected].

If that's the case we'd need to check whether there is an issue. What I do know is that we have tested this several times, and at present our own results are not showing any issues. We need to get your tests and feedback so we can recreate what is happening on your side, so that we can compare and find the possible cause for this.

Ok, will do. If you go to Supersport now, and watch any of the video highlights, do they play without any buffering? I would also like if possible, someone from Cape Town to also test.

Cool, we'll ask someone based in CT to also test for us. Assume you mean buffering?

I watched MotoGP last night with my 2Mbps account with maybe 5 quick stops and bufferings.

Saturday morning i watched Aus vs NZ with also 5 or so, but I was downloading stuff set to 80 KB/s as max speed even.

Friday night i struggled with streaming the Bulls game at first but then ran fine the after the first 10 min or so with also 5 or so bufferings stops of 1 sec or so each.

I've run quite a bit of testing from Cape Town and all the highlights have loaded up without any buffering. There aren't any live streams to test out, but could you perhaps PM me tonight if you're still having issues?

Hi. Just received Gian's email.

Will that mean that as soon as the link is clicked, the device is reserved for me (assuming i'm in the first 1000) - or does it mean that we will have to login before the device will be reserved.

Again, just making sure

I was also wondering about this.

I've also received the email. But it's just to inform us how it's going to go down. The mail will be sendt at 3:17 and at 10:00 the link will become active. (At this point you'll need to click on the link). Fastest (1st 1000) draw (clickers) gets the prize...

AfriMan, does the fact that it's my birthday on Saturday get me a reserved MiFi device...:D Would be a awesome gift :D

So you're saying once the link is clicked, the device is reserved?

If so, that'll be great :P

Our site picks up successful signups, so the device will be reserved for you once you've completed the checkout.
We've kept it the same for this launch as some people may cancel/ not qualify for some or other reason. So make sure you complete everything quickly :)

Was using this fine a few minutes ago...?

Seems to be OK on my end, could you try clearing your cache to see if it makes a difference?

(By the way the CHEAPEST out of bundle, non-contract rate in the market at the moment is R153,60 for just ONE GB)

I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure my 8ta prepaid sim has an option for 2gb of data for R149+- topups

**edit - uploaded picture of the 8ta/Telkom mobile prepaid packages. a lot lower than R153.60, I'm not dissing AH, just wondering on what they are basing their figures on? :)
I will also be one of the F5 bashing people tomorrow morning ;)

hi Afriman, I'm considering signing up with you guys but need some advice, I'm currently on a 1meg uncapped account with mweb, I'm considering taking the 1meg business uncapped account with you guys but at the same time considering just upgrading my line to 2mb and taking a normal 2meg uncapped account, what would you suggest between the 2?
