Electricity throttling. At least if they just shaped your geyser to 25% you could still have a cup of tea![]()
At this time on a Friday the problem with electricity throttling is not having cold tea, it's having warm beer.

Hi and Welcome to the MyBB Support Group...
Zertop: Hi Everyone, I'm Zertop
Everyone: Hiiii Zertop
Zertop: I've been off shaping for a whole day now, and I think I'm on the road to recovery
Everyone: *clap clap clap*

Can barely stream 360p on my 4Mb line...not looking good.
You mean there is something else other than candles to heat water - sies man, we are so behind the times in the EC.I can't decide which is worse. At least you can throw your beer in the pool. Have you tried to boil water with a candle? - cos I have (not my finest moment, to be sure)![]()
Zero shaping the whole day...awesome.
Shocking perf on twitch streaming 4mb account. Average is 78kB/s throughput.
Put a dl on...goes to 310kB. What more proof do you guys need to at least look at twitch services again?
Can watch on low qual. Try anything medium and 480p+ and it's jitter heaven.

That's not good at all. Your real time streaming should be fine, even if you are still shaped. Please PM me so I can look at this![]()
I tried this myself today. Watched a medium video from rAge (some kind of Quake tournament) on highest shaping with very sporadic buffering but otherwise very watchable. This was on a 10Mbps line though, and I did not that Twitch is very bandwidth hungry compared to other services, saw some major bandwidth spikes on Bitmeter![]()

Whether your network is working or not is a function of subscribers' expectations. Afrihost is simply shaping far beyond what subscribers (me included) think is reasonable. I'm steering clear of the whole "then moved to business uncapped if you don't want shaped" conversation. Bottom line is performance is far less than expectation.
Last I read Afrihost was still trying to determine exactly what the problem was - something like "hold thumbs - we're sure things will get better soon" - well I think subscribers need more details. More than a shot in the dark.

No twitch is not. Because if my account could push the needed 270kB odd it is most definitely capable of then twitch on highest quality would be perfectly fine...just like I can stream youtube in HD...perfectly fine...and just like I can do on other accounts. The problem here is the afrihost uncapped account working with twitch unfortunately![]()
Yes, torrents still account for about a quarter of our capacity (if not more). If we could get more people to torrent and download overnight, that would be a WIN-WIN for everyone. We could really max out our capacity (which we pay for 24/7) and usage could be more spread out and shaping more lenient.
