Also back to 18.8/6.25; should have known my optimism is misplaced. So yes, fast approaching a month since iOS7-day and, apart from a lonely blip here and there, absolutely zero improvement.

Our news server does 5 connections max, and our retention is 200 days.

Your get 5 Free turbocharges every month, and thereafter you top up at R29 per topup, which includes different number of sessions depending on your Uncapped speed.

We're sorry that you're experience on Uncapped is not as good as it could be. We have some plans in motion to get everything up and running as smoothly as it has been all year, we definitely won't leave our clients hanging :)

So, I go and activate that Free Turbocharge, and MAANnn, it goes from 5KB/s to a whopping 6KB/s. Not impressed ... but wait theres more.
After about 5 minutes waiting it kicks in and speeds are over 100KB/s presently on my 1Mb UnCp Acc.
So feedback is that Turbocharge works ... not that anybody asked for my feedback, i just felt the need to give it o_O

Well use down here in the Cape have been experiencing zero shaping for about a week...

One of my business friends received the following this morning;

Good day ****

Thank you for the providing the tracert results. I have requested that MTN look into this matter and below is the feedback received from them:
The Telkom IPC is currently running at 947Mbps and the maximux that it can run at is 950Mbps so the link is congested, this is causing high latency for your clients. On the trace sent you will see that the latency increases from the Telkom Bras to the IPC indicating that IPC's are congested.

I hope the above information serves you well and explains the latency you are experiencing. If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Well, that's a bit more information than we're used to!

Strangely enough I have been on no shaping for the whole day, although my router is off, don't know if no shaping is applied if the connection is off. PTA. 10 meg line with 200.23 GB done for the month.

:) Has nothing to do with your router. It's on the account.

As soon as I got home and started moving data, the shaping kicked in @ 12.5/6.5

Something...I swear this is like clockwork. Line running at well over 300kB...at 17:22 exactly my connection gets cut and I have to reauthenticate. Speeds are 150kB average. This is too precise on a daily basis to be happenstance...will get telkomza to have inspect the local exchange and dslam...something kicks in at this time which is causing this.

Perhaps it is a failsafe that guarentees everyone a bit of bandwidth...but something happens in this goddamn timeslot 17:20 till 01:00. Then it flies again...

clearly an issue where realtime (youtube + speedtest) is being shaped on the uncapped account:

18h08 friday night
milnerton, cape town

uncapped:
i am getting speeds of 300 to 500 kbps on youtube
http://speedtest.ookla.com/result/2340374377.png (1.9Mbps)

capped:
i am streaming HD youtube with no buffering
http://speedtest.ookla.com/result/2340379040.png (8.5Mbps)

i switch back to uncapped and the same useless youtube at <500kbps. :(

Newlands, Cape Town.

Netflix, once again, unusable. 10mbps.
