Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

In the interest of my own sanity, having grown tired of notpologies and vacuous explanations, I've given this thread a bit of a wide berth the last few days. So, any concrete details yet as to when we might start seeing an improvement? It's now, what, nearing 6 weeks since iOS7-day and 18.8/6.25 shaping has been established as the daytime norm, with each weekend seeing progressively more shaping than the prior one.

Is this set to ever get better, or will I need to start shaping my debit orders?

Ha ha I like that, shaping your debit order.

I've kept to myself since this shaping originally started as I was previously with Mweb and the service I received from Afrihost was absolutely incredible.

Fast forward six weeks and as you mention, it seems the shaping is getting progressively worse. Initially scheduling my downloads during the night or weekend worked perfectly fine but the last two weeks have been rubbish. Wake up in the mornings only to find that my downloads have hardly moved.

Youtube is also struggling, I used to be able to play 720p videos just fine on my 4mb line but for the last month or so the buffering is just insane.

I just have to add that there has never been any line issues on my side, I am literally a stone throw away from the exchange and constantly monitor the performance, which has been stellar throughout.

Not sure if correct thread, but if I buy 100GB capped, will those be shaped, EVER? Or truly never?

Yesterday and Monday my html downloads were at 23kbs and torrents were at 10kbps, I kid you not. Then I headed over to Axxess website and noticed they have a free 3gb trial adsl account for offer, so i signed up. Entered the received details into my router and hey presto torrents shot up to almost my full line speed 180/190kbps. This is strange as doesn't axxess fall under afrihost? Makes me think afrhost are full of ****

Yes I shaped my debit order with afrihost to 0% today, unfortunately a months notice is required, so it will be shaped from December onwards, now to decide which ISP (decision time, lucky I have a month to think about it)

You could've paused your account for November if you requested it earlier. Maybe AfriMan/Guy can still do it for you.

We can't confirm anything just yet, as we mentioned before we do have a few solutions that we're hoping to get going soon.

Cancellations need to take place before the 25th of every month, any time after this date the cancellation will take place at the end of the following month.

You need to start getting some clarity on when you'll start getting some clarity, then. You've offered an inexcusably **** product for a month and a half now, with absolutely no improvement nor indication thereof. It's wearing thin.

Axxess and ourselves do have different shaping rules setup, we're still two different companies :)
What are your current shaping percentages looking like?
