Try a tracert to google.co.za and post here
Bear in mind, the Telkom/SAIX speedtest server in Cape Town is stuffed sometimes. Always do a speedtest to 2 different servers per location.

Nothing wrong here - I dunno
Did International, JHB and CTP speedtests, all three gave a crap result.
Yep forget that one, the speedtest is wrong, must get my facts straight

Hi All,
Anyone in the Plumstead/Wynberg area in CPT getting slow speeds lately. I can't figure this one out...
I can normally download from Youtube at full speed on a 10meg line, but the past 3 or 4 nights its been crazy slow.
I am not shaped:

However my download have been tricking along at under 100KBps.
There's absolutly nothing else downloading at the same time.
This one has got me, can't figure it out.
In the same boat (bergvliet area). Seems that streaming is throttled (however much they deny it) cause downloads and torrents will go full speed but youtube/twitch sorry for you.
Hey Afriman, Okay so i did choose the relocate option, it said it can take up to 5 days. Now will my current adsl line stop working or is it just moving back to telkom and then i can phone them and arrange for it to be moved? I checked in my new apartment and there is a line there but i don't think it is active at the moment. Would really suck to pay for a months line rental and adsl and not be able to use it at all![]()

If no ETA's are given before the 25th (last day to cancel), I'll give AH an extra 200gb per month capacity because I'll be at a different ISP from December. We're now officially 2/3rds of the way through November. Rapidly approaching December, the situation isn't improving despite talk of increased capacity. I'm pretty sure that whatever state we're in on 1 December will be the state we stay in until 14 January since sweet b*gger all happens over December.
The reality is that the situation has been well below optimal for months now. What started as an anomaly has become the norm. I think it's time that the Afripeople started giving us tangible information and ETA's and not vague "I hope it wills". I really don't think it's too much to ask for customers who have been super humanly patient.
I also think it's time for Gian to step up and start coming up with concrete solutions.
