Which would you like? Home or Business account? They cant refund you this month but if you want to cancel, it will take place on Dec 1st

i have home, i wanted business FOR ONLY THE REST OF NOVEMBER. the discrepancy is that the system says just like you did that the downgrade back to home will only happen 1st dec but it happened immediately thus taking my money and not supplying me with business for the rest of the month.

One is capped (faster) and the other (slower) is not?

Your can "tweak your line" in ClientZone to see if it syncs higher.

I know what the difference between capped and uncapped means. There is a reason as to why i have uncapped and 50 gigs of capped data as well.

I'm just trying to understand if this actually means that we are now getting the promised upgrades?

Hi guys,

Considering moving to Afrihost. Just got throttled on my 2MB "premium" uncapped mweb service when I hit 205GB in 30 day rolling window.

Interested in taking up the 2mb silver or 4mb gold uncapped product. My line just got upgraded from 2-4 this week.

Two questions,
1- aside from shaping, does afrihost throttle?
2- does afrihost have a decent news server (Usenet)?

Afriman/guy, u welcome to respond as well. Will Afrihost be releasing revised pricing soon in light of the line upgrades happening?

Thanks

1. They don't throttle
2. Yes there is a decent server, but it's shaped to oblivion in the day. On the other hand, premium news servers aren't shaped that badly.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm on mweb "premium" uncapped, so I'm used to being throttled to oblivion....shaping is nothing I can't handle...lol

We don't ever throttle our DSL products and it's not something we're very keen to offer in the future - though there may always be a place for throttled uncapped in the current market. For now though, we're not doing the throttling thing for now.

We have a news service we run with Highwinds (a very reputable service). If you're on our network, you'll always have free access and up to 5 connections :)

As a rule of thumb, data prices are not changing just yet. We decided to wait until the upgrade process settles before we revise our uncapped prices (we've already dropped capped prices recently). The main reason is so that we can see exactly how the upgrades affect our clients and how package preference will change. While on paper it would make sense that 10Mbps will not be the most popular product (replacing 4Mbps) - it may not be viable for many clients who will most likely downgrade for more stable service.

Ok, so strange things happened. My router is syncing at a random 3Mbps instead of 2Mbps...Why not 4Mbps if i may ask? Seeing as my router clearly wants to sync at that speed....

Getting around 238 - 248Kbp/s on torrents. Random speed test shows this:

and this:

So i switched to a capped account this is what i got:

If Telkom upgraded your line, they'll set you on the highest sync rate possible that seems to stably connect. Sounds like 3Mbps was the best setting the technician could set it at :(
