Oh haha. Ill have a look. One thing though, I am having serious issues again, not just with downloads but also youtube. Is there anything more we can do to fix this?

This seems to have resolved itself, but this is happening quite often where local latency jumps from 30ms - 100ms, also lots of packet loss, but this is probably my line which telkom acknowledge is an issue but have no idea where the issue is, even after 3 technicians have been.

I can see a lot of exchanges are reported as down in the DBN area tonight. This may be having an affect on throughput, but if you've see these issues before we may need to do some digging here for you.

So a week later and I still can't game as everything rubber bands like crazy! So much for enjoying the R700 game I just bought! ARGH! I am seriously getting tired of this! I have not gotten any feedback besides one of you afripeople promising me on THIS thread that you have gotten my pm's and have not forgotten about me! Please I work a lot, I got the 10mbps bundle so i dont have hassles yet I can almost never game lately...
 
Also not having joy after Telkom installed my new line today :( will post stats after my everlong download of java for ping test is complete

Quick question. I have a 2mb standard uncapped account with AH. According to Telkom's ADSL checker my maximum line speed in my area is 1mb and my current service speed is 4mb. I am syncing at 2mb and not 1mb so does this mean my line is 4mb ready now?

Looking to go move over to Afrihost next month. My exchange has been upgraded to 4mb by telkom. Can you let me know how much for a 2mb or 4mb uncapped account from you guys? Also your throttling policy.

You can view the prices on afrihost.co.za

Afrihost doesn't throttle, only shape. Only downloads are shaped, youtube and web browsing is full speed all the time. The network only gets shaped when it is under strain, so the shaping is not constant.

Looks like either serious congestion or a very bad line. We still shaping in the North, but otherwise we're seeing excellent throughput and latency throughout.

Definitely an unhappy line here :(

Looks like you hit the Telkom confusion trifecta here :(

We'll need to check your actual line sync and profile - but Telkom are still going to be upgrading until early Feb next year. There no real way of knowing unless you know for sure that you have actually upgraded already :(
